Slot figure it tf out. This is unacceptable. I don't mind losing, but getting absolutely boat raced after your best two games of the season is piss poor.

You gotta get Konate out of this team in January.

Doku putting all of Liverpool in a blender today.

Looks like varsity vs freshman. Besides a few games this year, again it's shocking the drop off from last year. Just miles off.

Down 3-0 and they are just jogging and standing around watching MC do whatever they want. Salah had the ball in the box and 4 MC players in front of him with all our guys standing around watching and not even close to him.

Then on the counter from it they just causally run back marking no one while mc goes down with ease and wide open spaces

Salah is completely inept now in everything. Yet will never come out.

I think it's pretty clear we/Slot have been completely figured out by everyone in the EPL, and we need a new style of play.

Liverpool have lost almost 45% of their total games since they were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG on March 11 of last season.

Slot will get to the end of 2025, but if they have another few games like what we just saw, he'll be gone.

Saw Bradley is out for at least 3 weeks and Wirtz out for at least this game. Frimpong at least another 3 weeks.

RIP this season. Got a really bad feeling this thing is going to blow up in epic failure.

Anfield is like a morgue today. And us trying to breakdown this low block is an exercise in futility. Just so slow.

This thing is broken and a complete mess from top to bottom. Can't defend and can't score. Slow and no clue what to do on the pitch. Isak with the least amount of touches of all starters…and it was his most active game in his short time here.

It's stunning after last year, but Slot has no answer and you are at the point of really needing to move on and needing a reset.

This is basically a rerun of our disastrous 2015 season. It was the year after Luis Suarez left and the last year of Brendan Rodgers as our manager. We had this same terrible attacking philosophy where we just passed the ball around the box but never really threatened. The manager emphasized possession, over pressing and risk taking and we had an incredibly anemic attack. At the same time it felt like we conceded every chance to the opposition.
At the time it seemed like Liverpool were destined for a life in the middle of the table.

Everything changed with Klopp: more intensity and more purpose. It took years to create, but once Klopp imprinted his philosophy we rocketed up the table.

It only took 1 season for Slot and Edwards to remove that winning philosophy. Edwards insisted on buying big money players that don't press (and play at a slower tempo), while Slot coached every bit of aggression out of the team. I feel the same way I did back in 2015 at this moment: The team isn't fun to watch and it seems like we will be stuck in the middle of the table for a few years. Worst of all, there isn't a Jurgen Klopp lurking in the shadows to save us.

I think you probably need to have a serious conversation about letting him go before the transfer window opens/closes.

Agree. Either way he can't have any input on how this is constructed going forward. He's a lame duck…bad situation all the way around

It bothers me most that we bought all of these players and have had absolutely no plan for them when Slot was literally telling them all he had plans for them.

I think Iraola should be calls 1/2/3, but that means you'd have to wait till summer 2026.

I was feeling pretty down about Liverpool's current poor form....then Everton got a red card because one of their players slapped their own teammate....THEN United lost to them...

Better than Chicken Soup.

Been thinking about this one for a bit so apologies for the long post, but I think what Liverpool is going through right now is incredibly interesting, unique and frustrating, so here it goes.

I've listened to a lot of The Anfield Wrap this year to try and get a feel for what they think across the pond and how that aligns with my thoughts and beliefs, and I think we are pretty aligned at this point.

Yes, I think we have a legit personnel problem at a few places like LW and at CB (hello Konate). We've discussed ad nauseam that we are at minimum one really pacey, explosive forward short of being a complete group, and I could make a real argument we are two forwards short because they refuse to use Rio Ngumoha and Isak has been beyond limited this fall. Thus we've been left with at most four options week in and week out. Anyways, our press in particular is so poor because we just do not have the horses or energy to do it anymore, at least at necessary levels for today's day and age of soccer, and I think this has really caused issues down the team and lineup.

CB is pretty self explanatory; Konate has been heinous this year and cannot pass the ball well enough without more help around him. They effed up in a huge way not getting Guehi done before the final few days. If you're going to play in all of the competitions these days you need three legit CBs imo, and we have two and a half.

Going down the list a bit we absolutely struggle with what soccer has become being SO set piece and long ball heavy. It just is what it is. Slot hasn't been able to figure out a formation nor a starting 11 guys to properly deal with it.

But more than any of the above right now I think this season has become a gigantic emotional (or lack thereof) mess. Jota passing away, bringing in 400 million in new players, players out, no chemistry, championship hangover and the list goes on. And on top of it all is the fact that I don't think this group of players or club has an emotional leader anymore. Klopp, Jordan Henderson and Milner were it for so long, along with Bobby Firmino. After those guys left, it was still Klopp, but up came a new wave of emotional and energetic leaders like Jota (even thought he didn't play every game), Diaz, and even Darwin Nunez to an extent. And I know not all of those guys in the last group were world beaters or near as good as other guys on the team, but they brought LIFE and ENERGY to the team, whether on the pitch or off it.

And what is the common denominator between each of the people mentioned above...they are all gone. As good as Salah and VVD are, they are NOT emotional leaders on the pitch and I don't think off it, and they simply cannot bring the same physical energy that they could when they were younger. We damn sure don't get it from Slot. I think the only real players we get it from at all are Szbo and Robo, and surprisingly enough Chiesa when he comes on.

We absolutely crumbled after we gave up the first goal on Saturday, and have done so multiple times this season. This teams needs to turn their emotion in fight, into want to, into grit and I don't think we have that at manager or in the players right now. That is what I think is the biggest issue is at this moment.

Im actually starting to feel bad for Arne. The leaders of this club have been some of the worst performers. They spent all of last year obsessed with their contracts, but have really not offered anything this year to reward LFC for their loyalty.

I don't disagree to an extent. Virg, Salah, Mac, Konate and Robo (the elder statesman so to speak) have been different shades of awful this year. Where I'll push back some is when your guys are playing like ass, you the manager need to either sit those players and reset them or push the right mental/emotional buttons to get those guys out of their funk, and Slot hasn't done either of those things.

It's just my personal belief that the best coaches across sports know how to get the best out of their players in the best of times and in the worst of times.

I'm not absolving him of sin. He hasn't done enough to get this team into a run of good form, but the blame certainly needs to be shared at this point. A coach can only do so much, he needs the help of his senior players to set the proper tone. Mo has been relatively lifeless this year and VVD has been guilty of too many mental errors. Arne could be the best coach in the world, but if those two guys don't start playing better (and leading by example) we arent turning this season around. They are our highest paid players and they need to start performing like it.

Alright...checked back in (at work) and 1-1...I'll take it. Headed home to watch 2nd half, but can't tell if Im good or bad luck at moment lol
