I was on a 30 minute delay but had to laugh. You just know Erik was somewhere here in the NL cursing those players. If they finished like that on Sunday, he'd still have a job.

That game felt a bit like last year when chaos ball happened to go well. Created a lot (with a lot of help from a crappy Leicester team to be sure) but also gave up a lot of chances. Fun times but Chelsea will attempt 30 shots if we try that against them.

@ Spurs in the League Cup quarters two days after @ City in the league. If Amorim does start in mid-November, he'll have about a month before that combo. Godspeed to you good sir. My guess is the media will already have their knives sharpened and ready at that point.

Tom Rennie from talksport was already taking jabs how Man United are declaring the season over by not getting Amorim in this week, and it taking 2 weeks. I mean come on.

I just hope that when we play Spurs, they don't trot out their secret weapon.

I feel like we still have a chance at top 5 if, and it's a big if, we can beat Chelsea this weekend. Spurs play Villa as well. Right now we are 6 points behind Chelsea, 5 behind Brighton, 2 points behind Spurs, and 1 point behind Newcastle. Also, Brighton plays Liverpool, and Newcastle plays Arsenal this weekend. There's still an opportunity, but we have to go from inept to competent immediately, and I don't know if that's possible even with a new manager bounce. And we need luck in other games to move back up fast (although Liverpool and Arsenal wins would be a strange definition of "luck" for United fans, really). Guess we will know more after the weekend. If, on the other hand, we lose and are 9 points behind Chelsea, that's a lot of points even with almost 3/4 of the season left.

Yep. The same publications that lambasted United for hiring EtH and every week continued to tell United to fire him are now reaming United for firing him. Calling out United incompetence sells well so they'll ensure it gets created in any scenario.

I literally always regret it. Did the refs in this game just decide to ignore the last 3 years of offside rules and raise their flags early on close calls? I've seen at least two flags up early when they should've stayed down because it was either borderline or in one case, well onside.

Garnacho finishing down to about a 4 out of 20 on Football Manager. That was horrible.

Looked pretty clear to me he came down on Hojlund's foot and didn't get the ball. Hojlund embellished but there was contact.

That corner looked like we had never played soccer before.

How that shot managed to get between Mudryk's legs I'll never know. His legs were exactly a soccer ball diameter apart and Caicedo managed to hit that space perfectly on the volley.

Amorim could increase the goals scored simply by making Garnacho pass more and shoot less.

Can argue that Rashford subbed off since he was on a yellow and perhaps was boiling over a bit but there's no other reason I can think of for keeping Garnacho on and not Rashford after watching this performance. Garnacho has killed at least 5 chances.
