If they do, they're guaranteed to win the World Cup. It's science.

Over or under Chelsea paying $70 MM for Ferguson (BHA's forward) next summer?

But seriously, BHA is good. And they got Fati too. They really need to just not play Milner anymore.

Review of spending in football from 2014-2023. Chelsea have spent more than 600m more than any other club during that time period. Man U have the worst net spend. Everton have invested over 1 billion euros in their squad ...

ManU are also at the top of wage spending too. I never understand why their fans insist that the Glazers don't spend money… you can certainly criticize them for spending it foolishly, but the narrative that they don't invest is patently false.

$3m this year. We need new ownership.

I'm sure that there are some fans who have complained that United don't spend money. But it's not really a common complaint that I ever see. In my experience, most of the time the complaint is that:

1) they could be spending a lot more if they hadn't saddled the club with massive debt scheme that has currently added $1 billion of debt on the club that has to be serviced

2) they could be spending a lot more if they didn't actually take money out of the club to enrich themselves

Of course 1 and 2 would likely be irrelevant (or less relevant) to the fans, if they were making decisions that were smart enough to win trophies on a regular basis. The potential additional spend that wasn't being realized due to their financial scheming wouldn't be a primary concern.

But when you aren't and, furthermore, you're watching your club's facilities turn into trash (next to nothing has be done to Old Trafford in the entire time the Glazers have owned the club because they can't afford it) then it's easy to see how 1 and 2 can turn into "they aren't spending".

Fair enough. I might have created a straw man that doesn't really exist.

Regardless, those dudes deserve plenty of other criticism.

#3 The Glazers appoint finance guys who helped them get the club to run it, and they tend to not be great at valuing and identifying footballers since they know about LBOs but not football, causing us to overspend. (This is hard anyway, but we are particularly bad at it.)

#4 the best transfer deals tend to occur in June. We never spend any money in June because the Glazers don't like fourth quarter expenses and try to push them to the next fiscal year. And usually they try to not spend any money at all, then a bad result causes us to buy in a panic and overpay compared to comparable players bought at the start of the window.

I have a feeling a lot of the people saying "the Glazers aren't so bad" would have a much different opinion if the Glazers took the money from selling United and tried to use it to buy their club lol.

They barely avoided relegation last season, only saving grace this season is that the 3 promoted teams are all likely to go back down.

Sheffield has at least shown a pulse so they may fight to stay up

Burnley and Luton seem like sure bets to go down

ManU is the underdog to BHA at home tomorrow.
You hate to see it. But also you love to see it.

I do think West Ham represents a decent matchup opportunity against Man City.

Do you think United have De Gea on speed dial? 13 goals and counting conceded in 5 games. I know it's not all on the GK but oof that is not a stat you want to be associated with

"The team was good. We didn't win because of me."

Clown on him all you want but can't think of many who would own up to a mistake like that. The man asked to come out and talk to the media post-game. David de Gea would never...

That's MY goalie.

Thought the same thing watching the postgame show. Was impressed that he specifically wanted to see Schmeicel and accept responsibility.

Only thing that I don't agree with is that he isn't MY goalie. Mine happens to be good at stopping balls.

What happened to the 6:30 Saturday game this year? I've got 2 young kids. That's my one game a week that I get to watch mostly uninterrupted.
Hey...so.. um

I was thinking the same thing. Those are my favorite games to watch. First half with no one awake, then second half while cooking breakfast.

I think all the complaining by teams in Europe about having to play that game means you won't see 6:30am games after a European window. One of the European teams must have been playing in that window and was moved for them.

Looks like 6:30am games for next 4 weeks at least!

Pretty sure Klopp recently complained of this too when we got scheduled for the early game last Saturday after the international break.

I agree that teams that travel for European competitions during the week shouldn't get scheduled in that game, in addition to all games after the international break….I personally love the 6:30 kick for all the aforementioned reasons though!

Also, Anthony Gordon shares a striking resemblance to Billy Zapka

i like the navy and highlighter kit too. i wish nearly all of the premier league's jersey sponsors weren't obscure gambling sites or middle eastern companies. I think i read that gambling sites could no longer be the primary kit sponsor for EPL after next year.

if they would all go back to beer companies, i'd probably own a lot more soccer shirts.

i have a 1996 chelsea shirt with the Coors sponsor and an early 2000s liverpool shirt with the Carlsburg sponsor. a mid-90s newcastle shirt with the newcastle brown ale logo would be sweet.

Part of my love for Arsenal was that they were sponsored by Sega Dreamcast when I was a 10 year old or so who spent too much time during the weekend playing his Dreamcast with friends and too much time at night secretly playing a hand held Sega Genesis in bed late on school nights
