Yeah, well it's just Fulham. They aren't getting relegated, so their season is already a huge success.

I guess this is not the season to make any predictions. I just said I thought too 4 were locked down. Brentford outplaying Newcastle to make me eat those words.

Yeah, things are just so tight at the top and bottom. Lots of swings left in this season.

Watching the live table is so crazy this year. Everything is so tight that a goal here and a goal there flip multiple teams.

Chelsea showing it doesn't matter who manages them or how much they spend on a squad.

Brighton seem to have fallen victim to one of the most incompetent displays of officiating in Premier League history throughout their 2-1 defeat away at Spurs.

That's the guardian description of the game earlier, I love the British media

Lol. You dont fire Graham Potter and hire Frank Lampard because you're actually trying to win. Its just to try and cool down some of the heat enough to make it to the next season.

It's looking a bit more likely that NUFC will be in CL next season. That's crazy just typing it. Not a done deal, but it's gonna be these 3 fighting for 2 spots: NUFC, ManU, Spurs.

I mean, if a complete **** organization like Tottenham can play in a few Champions Leagues, why not Newcastle?

Good one!

ETA: you don't know what a complete **** organization is until you've had Mike Ashley at the helm for 14 years, lol.

Lots of complaints about the quality of officiating… wonder if this plays a part.

EPL is the wealthiest league but…

I've said it over and over and over. Refs/Umps should be paid a heck of a lot more. But they should also be hired/fired/promoted/demoted much quicker as well.

But every sports league in the world only pays lip service to improving their rule's enforcers. It's a joke.
Mathguy64

That salary tweet is very misleading at best and wrong at worst. PGMOL refs are full time employees and paid a base salary of $45-50k a year plus a game fee. What they are showing is the game fee. They make roughly $80k in total. Some more and that's just EPL game fees.
deadbq03

It is probably misleading, but it's also probably a moot point because the same is true for the other leagues (probably). At the very least it's also true for Bundesliga, where the best refs in Bundesliga make a 70k base plus the per game fee in the tweet. Everyone makes the same per game fee, but the base salaries are different based on their grades/quality.

And I'll just add since I watch both leagues, the quality of officiating is night and day different between the two. No one is perfect, but when you pay twice as much, it's no surprise that your employees take pride in their work.
Furlock Bones

And that's not nearly enough. I would say that is a fraction of what the refs in multi multi billion dollar sports ventures should be paid.

Liverpool showing some high quality defense early.

If you are going to crap the bed you may as well take a full on Taco Bell 2AM growler right in grandma's quilt comforter.

I'd love see a 7:30PM August game in Dallas with those euros.

Don't worry. The midday games in a swamp at the end of the July will surely see at least a dozen pale Englishmen spontaneously combust.

Not to mention the July game in Orlando. At least Dallas would be inside Jerry World.

Weird to have just the 1 game...especially with those teams...there. I assume it will be held in the MLS venue but still seems risky to assume that a couple of US internationals will be enough to fill the stadium.

Though maybe 20,000 English will incorporate it into a summer trip to Disney.

2:45pm Landover, MD on July 30 sounds awful, as does anytime in Orlando in July. ATL will be indoors at least.

Will the English play on artificial grass?

Funny sorry, my daughters first game back from high school we played on a grass field that it would be a complement to call a goat track.

Watching those girls Re-adjust to a non perfect roll was hilarious.
