For me, the ref can only do so much to control the game. If a team doesn't want to be controlled, like Colombia appears to be acting, there is not much you can do. I feel for Geiger. Everyone who has held a whistle has had games where the players on both sides just refuse to play soccer. And let's be clear. It's been in both sides. In an O-30 game you can just card idiots below the minimum. He can't do that.
