I tend to prefer 4-3-3 but with the guys on the roster (started my CM after the Jan window) I decided to try a 4-2-2-2. Before any transfers I lined up with...

----- Auba -- Laca -----
Miki ----------------- Ozil
--- Xhaka --- Ramsey ---
Kola - Kos - Mustafi - Bellerin

In the 1st window I added Fabinho to replace Xhaka in the starting lineup and some depth players

Auba & Laca each had 20+ goals in all comps for the season

Yeah, 3 goals in 29 appearances is a huge loss.

He may end up being good for Liverpool but he wasn't fitting in to our system (whatever that may be) and wasn't getting the PT he desired. Honestly, where would you put him in our current lineup? He has no real spot in a 4-3-3. Not a good enough scorer/creator to play on the wing and not enough vision to play as a CM.

I was a big supporter of the Ox, but like chjoak said, he really didn't fit well in our system because he wants to play in the middle instead of on the wing. I don't think he should start over Ramsey or Ozil and the 3rd midfielder needs to be more defensive minded.

I think he is a heck of a player, but don't forget he was a heck of a turnover machine and the goal return was always short.

That said, I still enjoy watching him play. Always did have a cannon

Don't think he has the vision or football intelligence to play CM/CAM for a big club either. Needs to get it into his head that he is better as a RM/LM/RWB/LWB where his speed can be used more easily.

Klopp's pressing style needs players with serious motors that are comfortable both on the wing or in the middle. Ox fits that style well.

This team could be competitive next season with the addition of a starting CB and DM. Hell, with a DM like NZonzi to cover them and help the D, you may even be able to make Jack & Ramsey look like the players that the fans have wanted them to be.

Read a rumor this morning that Barca is dangling Dembele in front of us in order to get Bellerin this summer. Like Bellerin but I would be seriously temped by this move. My biggest pause might be Bellerin's HG status.

Lulls you into a potentially false sense of hope. With a few key additions on the defensive side of the ball (DM, CB, GK) we look like we could be competitive again. Then hopefully Mislintat can keep the injection of youth up so that we can retool rather than completely rebuild.
