Durkin's way to fix his 3 man front is to put his tackles in 6techs (wide outside the tackle) which doesn't fix anything all at. What that does is tell the offense who is responsible for what gaps. When he does a 40 (4 down front) he takes a backer off the field so you still have a 5 man box.... and if you are going to do that 3-2 with head up tackles and nose that slant is better than a 4-1.
