City Acre Brewery is closing. They were off of 59 and Tidwell. Years ago I worked off of Tidwell and Hardy so we would eat their pretty regularly. Decent place, and the beer was pretty good. I know a couple of years ago they were going to shut down, but some angel investor swooped in and kept them opened. Guess the money ran out.

11 Below looks like it bit the dust

I used to like their Lil' Snack Pilsner.

They shut down the Willowbrook location a couple of years ago.

I just came back from their new location at B-52's in Conroe. Great location. They were out of 7iron. Got a B52 Pils that was good. Had some awesome wings there. Will be going back when they have 7iron back up. Apparently their chiller broke down about 7 months ago and they haven't been making much beer. They should be back up and going strong in the next few weeks. Haven't been able to find any 11Below products at Total Wine for months, now I know why.
I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

So Charloais is booked thru September so we survived the 610/ 45N road danger and went to Turner's on Post Oak.
My dog had a better dinner. Just not good steaks or sides. Wagu Fillet was almost average H-E-B meat.

Suggestions for Houston steak restaurant?

Turners always just kinda meh at best. Good happy hour martinis though.

Had Pappas Bros Wednesday. Still reins supreme in Houston IMO.

Have never gone wrong here. If it's not "the" best, it's definitely top 3. I can't imagine anyone having anything but a great experience there.

I hope the pizza place does well, but I didn't know there was a market for a high-end pizza joint. $20-26 before tax and tip for a personal pizza isn't something I'm chomping at the bit to experience. I'm sure it'll do well the first 6-months but we'll see if it can maintain repeat business. At least pizza is a rather high profit margin item since its mostly just dough.

While we're here discussing Ryan and his friends, Angie's is apparently two months out on reservations.

A little shocked at that but it's the world we live in.

Ryan - In your peace negotiation, can you get some reservations in the next week or so for your pals in this chat group?

TIA, buddy.

Whats the deal with Angies causing problems? Its a pizza joint in the heights. That looks like it only operates 5PM-10PM monday-saturday.

That is about as good of hours as you're going to get living next to a restaurant.

Not sure of all the prices, but there are a lot of nicer pizza joints, and they seem to do OK

Ive been in the burbs too long. I'm in that phase where if we're going to get pizza, it needs to be a buffet. If we're going to go out on a date, its not going to be for pizza.

I'd truly love to see what a pizza place's books look like. I would never open a restaurant in general, but the margins with pizza, if you're successful, have to be amazing for so many people to take a shot at it.
