How they could F8ck up the concept that rakes in money everywhere else, is beyond me. Almost like it's PE owned. We get the fajitas for 2 from the Washington or Richmond location (not sure if it's 1/2 lb, but the middle option) and I know what to expect. At the Webster one, it was around half what we normally get....and the waiter called out my daughter trying to get a kids meal. I guess that's fair since she was over 12, but she wasn't that hungry and they're still like $10.

So which ones are Laurenzo owned these days? Washington, Richmond … maybe navigation? Those are the only ones we normally hit, with majority Washington. All other satellites Ive been to are noticeably different.

I'm just hoping they don't have the entrance/exit to where if a line forms it completely F's that intersection. I drive through it daily.

Agree that In N Out fries are bland, but for the price not many burgers compete with a double single mustard grilled, with chiles and onions.

Daughter is turning 18 in a couple of weeks and she wants to go to an upscale/fancy Italian place. Hit me with suggestions.

Preferably not on the north or east side of 610.

Port'a Vino - Good food and won't break the bank. Nice wine selection at retail prices for you and the wife.
Triola's - Not super upscale, but pretty small seating area. Food is top notch. Highly recommend the seafood lasagna.
Provare - Probably the best bet for the 18th birthday experience. Solid menu. Nice 'upscale' setting. Plan for $50-100/head if any drinks are involved.

Did you mean Potente instead of Provare?? Hard to call Provare Italian when it is billed as Italian/Cajun fusion. Additionally, I suggest you don't visit Washington Ave on a weekend night. The wild life is definitely out in force. As an added bonus, there have been shootings at the club just to the east of Provare. But maybe all that would provide a uniquely Houston experience!

Wouldn't classify Porta Vino as upscale, as he requested.

I don't think it is considered upscale but one of our favorites is Pasta Lomontes.

What I don't get is that a lot of people think their fries suck but they choose not to do anything about it.

If In N Out was convenient or whataburger was hard to get, it would be a toss up for me. Double cheeseburger whatameal is around $2 more than In N Out from what I remember.

Taking the wife to Potente this week for her bday dinner.

Any can't miss on or off the menu dishes we should ask about?

Wife and i enjoy this place. We never make a res and just head to the bar.

Ill take In&Out over whataburger every time, but I&N isnt as convenient so WB it is usually. PTerry's absolute wrong direction and I always forget theyre even here.

Just order the frys well done and eat them first.
