In other news, Angie's Pizza on 11th opened with a separate bar and menu upstairs. The building and build out look awesome. Can't wait to try it.

So far they've been really bad neighbors.

think of it this way RTT....If it weren't for all the trendy bars and restaurants around you, your AirBNB wouldn't be making any money.

what kind of grief are you giving this guy?

I haven't had any contact with them in weeks, except for when I saw him walking up my driveway at midnight.

Well you're correct insofar as it benefits my revenue stream, but it's not the primary driving force.

There is one outstanding issue I asked them to resolve months ago. They can do that and I'll be happy. I want them to be successful, but I also want them to be good neighbors. Between them and the developer who owns the property, they've put more than $3 million into the building, so I understand the pressure they must feel to make this work, but it's always cheap and easy to blame someone else (like a neighbor) for your struggles, amirite?

Just a turd in the punch bowl, a fly in the ointment...
I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

City Acre Brewery is closing. They were off of 59 and Tidwell. Years ago I worked off of Tidwell and Hardy so we would eat their pretty regularly. Decent place, and the beer was pretty good. I know a couple of years ago they were going to shut down, but some angel investor swooped in and kept them opened. Guess the money ran out.

Their food is good all around. I hope this is finally the thing that survives on that corner of White Oak.

What is the issue? Obviously the owner going on your property in the middle of the night is weird. But is there something else?

Been craving a good muffuletta. Any recommendations? Hot or cold works. Both Paulie's and Angelo'z seem like good options.

Updated reply: had one from Ragin' Cajun on Richmond this wknd. Pretty good; the olive salad tasted like Central Grocery. Came on a sesame bu.

Good to know as they're on my list as well.

The most recent one I tried was at Maceo's in Galveston. Wasn't impressed.

I second a previous comment about the goodness of the muffuletta at Jason's Deli - and I grew up in New Orleans. It's been a year since I've been, but I've had dozens over the years.

Saw a couple weeks ago that there was a fire at Angelo'z. Hope they make it back somehow, but if not, hats off to one of the Tine's best.

Sorry Houston, but the Woodlands has the best steak restaurant now. Went to the new Charloais Restaurant last night and it's the best imo. Including sides, appetizers, deserts and steaks. I previously swore Vic and Anthony's was the best but definitely not anymore. Great food and service.
And I got to park my own car. No trash on the streets, no homeless people, and no bodies floating in the bayou.

11 Below looks like it bit the dust

I used to like their Lil' Snack Pilsner.

Had a really good time. Wouldn't put it in the elite tier of Houston restaurants but we really enjoyed it.

Yeah they moved from Willowbrook up to Spring near 99,

* You are right! it appears they are moving again to Conroe to B-52

They aren't as dead as I thought

Visit
12470 Milroy Ln, Conroe, TX 77304
We have moved! Come get a beer and a fist bump in our fully climate-controlled taproom now located in the woodsy Conroe, TX!
