There's just no fire in their belly. They're fat and happy off last year's results. No intensity, no leadership. Also, questionable roster management by Dusty Baker

Questionable is such a generous term. I would use a word more like negligent.gooberhead said:

Afternoon drive time guy was on a long-winded rant version of your comment, adding in a bunch of nonsense about Dusty being arrogant and detached and not listening to anyone after winning the championship. Not to insult you; his rant got pretty dumb and petty on a personal level towards Dusty. Then went into some bizarre comparisons about AJ doing the same thing in 17 (which I seem to remember as a pretty good season, now that I think about it).gooberhead said:

Typical Houston sports radio, always crying ownership, management, and coaching. Players never have nagging injuries or bad outings, because the jock sniffing hosts want to be cool with the players.

Jose Altuve with the cycle. Why Altuvegate-obsessed opposing fans continue to show up and subject themselves to increased PTSD is beyond me. He broke several yesterday.

We won't see Brantley this season
Quote:
Aug. 29: OF Michael Brantley reinstated off 60-day IL; OF Corey Julks optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land; RHP Jake Cousins designated for assignment
Brantley, who hasn't appeared in a big league game since June 26, 2022, was activated off the 60-day injured list on Tuesday and in the lineup in left field against Boston. Brantley had shoulder surgery in August 2022 and suffered a couple of setbacks in his rehab, including one in early May when he was a day away from being activated. Brantley just completed a Minor League rehab assignment at Triple-A and went 8-for-23 with a homer and seven RBIs in seven games.
Astros manager Dusty Baker said Brantley would split time between left field and designated hitter. He will start at designated hitter on Wednesday.
