My last f1 was 18 days, but it had been disapproved twice prior. So that doesn't really count does it?

So has anybody ever talked to a live person at ATF when they called the status update phone #? Or does it always roll to a voicemail box?
I have called that # 3 times this week and never gotten a human answering.tandy miller said:txags92 said:

The regular NFA phone number?
304-616-4500?
They answer every time I've called. Hell I bet I've talked to the same Scott dude 5+ times about my R9 stamp

Well ***** Just finally got through to them, and ATF had approved it over a year ago and the stamp never made it to the seller. Now I have to wait up to another 45 days while they request a replacement stamp.
Yeah, I wish I had called a long time ago. The crappy part is that I have no idea who is really at fault. Did ATF screw up and not send it out after the approval? Did the USPS not deliver the stamp to the seller? Di the seller receive it and screw up by not updating their records? At this point I am kind of mad at all of them, but also mad at myself for waiting until I was well outside of the "range" of approval dates before calling to check the status. Instead, I just sat there waiting while every month I got an update email saying "ATF is still reviewing your application".BenderRodriguez said:txags92 said:

On the Silencer Central website, they have a page that gives a range of dates they have pending and are seeing approvals from. Can't link it from my work computer because firearms stuff is blocked.agracer said:What is this "range of approval dates" you speak of?txags92 said:Yeah, I wish I had called a long time ago. I'm at 220 days. I called a few weeks ago and was told it is "pending". It hadn't even been assigned to examiner IIRC.
What's most frustrating is I had to do an FBI background check for a project at work a few years ago and it took like 2-weeks. A month later I got a TWIC card and my TSA Pre-Check done on a Friday at 2PM. I was told approval for the TWIC would be a month or so and the Pre-Check a couple of weeks.
I both the TWIC card and Pre-Check approval emails in my in-box the next day on Saturday morning!
HTF is this taking so long?

Help me, because I still haven't done anything... why are the "free" SBRs suckers? Is there something more malicious than the worst case that they go back on the free part and require you to pay $200?FTAG 2000 said:agracer said:What is this "range of approval dates" you speak of?txags92 said:Yeah, I wish I had called a long time ago. It's engineered that way.
They moved all the suckers who applied for the 'free' short barrels to the head of the queue too.

At 270 days. No answer. This thread has been awfully quite. Any July 2022 people get their can yet?
If your Form 1 is denied for any reason (typo, etc.), you have provided the ATF with evidence that you are in possession of an illegal SBR. 10 years in prison is now on the table.Quote:

People have Form 1's denied all the time for silly mistakes. Normally, you can just correct and resubmit because you haven't built anything yet.

Or, take the brace off, submit f1, once f1 comes back put brace/stock back on.
If the form gets denied you're just in possession of a pistol

I submitted mine on May 5, 2022. Still no word
Over a month after the first approval and I'm still waiting on the second SBR, both submitted same day. Should I be calling at this point to see if there is some issue?HUEY04 said:

Yes. After my recent situation, I am going to be calling early and often from here on out. Assume somebody in the chain f-ed up and you will probably be right more often than not.HUEY04 said:Over a month after the first approval and I'm still waiting on the second SBR, both submitted same day.
