Just crossed the 11 month mark; ATF says still pending.

My check was cashed 12 months ago, so I called the NFA branch (first time I've been impatient enough to do so). They told me my form 4 was approved four weeks ago; how long does it typically take to reach the dealer? I've been extremely unimpressed with this dealer, so I'm a little concerned that it's been sitting in a mail pile somewhere.

Who was the dealer?

Call your dealer. They should have the stamp. Same thing happened to me. If suppressors arent their main business, I hear its common for this to happen.

My dealer (high volume silencer shop kiosk place) said they're mostly receiving February "check cashed" stamps this week.

Just got mine after 14 months. Check cashed 11/20/20.

Thanks guys. The dealer says they don't have it. I guess the outgoing mail is running slow over there.

Purchased mine on 12/28/20. Was approved on 1/4/22. My FFL received it in the mail on 2/11/22....

I got a can back yesterday. Stamp was on 2/3/22. Papers were mailed March 23rdish 2021.

Tuesday will be my 1 year anniversary......still no word

Got my notification from Capitol armory last week that my stamp for my 9k had come in. I bought it in December of 2020 from them.

Order placed with Silencer Shop on 1/12/21
Payment cashed on 3/12/21
Got the call from the dealer on 2/7/22 that my Stamp arrived

I just got the call! Check cashed 2/18/21, approved 1/20/22, at dealer 2/24/22.

I have a 5/14/21 check cashed... guess I'll continue to wait approx. 3 months

Here is my experience with my 2021 purchases. I called about the one outstanding from 3/5/21 and it's still pending. The last three aren't even in the system yet. I'm researching those further since the "check cashed" dates are estimates.

No ****, right? We were at a nice Christmas Eve brunch when I got the call and I scarfed down the rest of the food, got dessert to go, and bounced the **** out to get to the two gun stores (5 at each). I'm not sure how the batch approval worked out but it did, and I'm okay with it. I just wonder how it missed the March 5th one.

5 Form 1s came back today, filed 2/1 and 2/2. 23/24 days total.

Trust or individual? I filed one on 2/4, but the fingerprints didn't get there until 2/18. Mine was with a trust and 2 responsible persons. Also have two form 4s via silencershop in the works both ordered 11/28 but eform didn't certify until 1/28 and 2/10. Just trying to gauge how long I have to wait on the form 1.

Damnit, they got me again. Seeing all these posts about people getting stuff approved, and suddenly an email pops up in my inbox..."Status Update for Order In Progress". Same email I got Christmas morning. Same racing heartbeat and excitement building as I open the email. And then..."Dear TxAgs92, Your silencer paperwork for serial number ______ is still being reviewed by the ATF. Our customer service department will continue to send status updates. "

*******s. One of these months I will learn to not get my hopes up when I see an email from them and then will be truly surprised by an approval.

This beats the other: Status: disapproved. I got that one twice, then caught an error on my third try, finally fourth try got my last Form 1

Why so long on the form 1? I sent two more in this month (2/13 & 2/21). I was expecting something back by now. Did two in December. 7 & 9 days on each. One was SBR the other a suppressor.

I too get to play the quiet game. Purchased 2/29/2021, check cashed 3/15/2021, received 2/26/2022.

Not good at all. Anyone with a form 1 can, in the process of applying for a form 1 can, or who has ever bought a solvent trap should educate themselves on what's going on right now, contact the American Suppressor Association, their congressman, and potentially an attorney. Whatever you do, don't send the ATF any information they are requesting and don't talk to them if they contact you. They are actively trying to entrap people, by simply claiming that any materials (including raw) purchased to build a form 1 can whether before or after the Form 1 was granted are contraband because the intent to make those parts into a suppressor makes those parts a suppressor that should have been on a form 4 when purchased. They are denying form 1 applications and have stated their intent to disapprove Form 1s that have already been granted. It's insane, unconstitutional, and needs to be stopped.

Form 4s are okay for now, but there's a good chance that the new rules (which were not implemented properly at all) are going to make it to where you are required to form 4 any parts or accessories you want to buy for your cans.

This is very serious and likely the path they are planning on taking with braced pistols and 80% guns later this summer. You want to SBR your braced pistol due to the rule changes? You can't because you should have bought that pistol on a form 4 and since you didn't you are now a felon in the eyes of the ATF and subject to confiscation and imprisonment. That goes even for those who remove the brace in lieu of going the SBR route. Furthermore, due to the 80% stuff any major gun parts (barrels, triggers, slides, uppers, firing pins, etc) you want to buy from now own will be subject to a 4473 and an FBI background check (if you don't have a carry license).

I signed up for a life membership yesterday and am already NRA and GOA life. I recommend other support these organizations as well. At the very least GOA and ASA. I'm not a huge fan of the way the NRA operates, but membership is required for my local range membership.

There is an NFA Owners group on facebook that several people are reporting have received their efile form 4's already. Just passing along
