I know that if you preorder on Origin you're invited automatically. Don't worry though, it seems like most people (myself included) haven't even been able to start playing, we're all stuck at various percentages of "processing large file" during the install. I don't anticipate being able to play by the time the beta period ends. Hopefully they allocate more bandwidth for the launch.

Wee, pilmer's code is a stress test, you should of gotten it if you signed up for beta at any point. I got one too, just dont feel like installing it. It ends march 5th not the 27th i believe. 27th is when it started.
In yall's opinion, which do you think is better: Civilization or SimCity (or another same-type)?
I prefer Simcity, because I prefer building and managing a city, over building and managing an Empire via turn-based gameplay. I feel like Simcity is more of a creative game-type.
Those are really two completely different types of games.

I really like both franchises. Civilization always had more lasting appeal with me. I think I got more satisfaction out of SimCity in the early stages of the game, but wouldn't stick with one game for a long time like with Civilization.

Also, rather entertaining day on http://letsallbemayor.com/ - they have a game designer playing and he's answering some design/play questions.
It won't be like a diablo 3 fiasco. EVERYONE and their dog wanted to play Diablo 3 on launch. Simcity games have a much smaller following.
Anyways, I look forward to making a crime infested Casino and high tech city with the villain pack. I wonder if someone makes a good city with the hero if the good and bad will wander into the next city?
Edit: We could totally make a cool College Station city, and have Bryan be the bad city.

Haha, I remember a lot of my friends getting real butthurt when that started making its rounds on Facebook (I grew up in Bryan). I think it's funny especially since some people really do think you have a 75% chance of being mugged or something if you step foot in Bryan.

Looks like a handful of regions to choose from at launch. Depending on how many of us play, we may want to pick one of the bigger ones that can hold 16 cities.

Definitely do a 16-town region. Worst case scenario is more than one city per person, but I know of a few Ags who haven't participated in this thread that would join.
