Nah, it's just something human brains aren't very good at especially under stress. Even from the comfort of their couches many of our college educated, highly successful fans cannot be convinced of stone cold realities regarding football decision making that even remotely conflict with intuition.

Saying a high IQ coach is necessarily gonna be good at using his timeouts correctly at the end of a game is like saying a high IQ gun owner will do everything right when a burgler breaks in at 2 AM. In both cases it usually doesn't work out.

Exhibit A is the Commanders game. Meat heads with no idea what to do

Lost in the shuffle of the Commanders' booger-eating moronitude was the fact that the Giants could have taken it all the way down to the end after the 2:00 warning in OT...Skattebo's fumble was on first down and nobody had any timeouts left.

They probably didn't trust their kicker at that point, though, so running regular offense was at least somewhat understandable.

What "logjam" at WR do the Texans have? Seriously, who are you looking at, outside of Nico, is a truly good WR? Your view is someone that doesn't know the team, because when Nico went out, they had no answer at WR…and while MHJ, may not be the answer, he is at least a big WR that can fill that roll when Nico will goes out again.

I guess I forgot that Higgins was on IR. Isn't Dell supposed to be back at some point?

You could say MHJ is Collins insurance, but a 2nd round pick that has a chance to be a top 40 pick is a hefty price for a guy who is at best your 3rd best healthy WR, and at worst the 6th best WR on the roster.

Maybe Tank will be back..he is in the window to come back….it may be a steep price, and I will grant you it is a huge risk/reward, but familiarity with CJ may help…you and I may come back at the end of the season and agree it was a good or bad trade…we shall see.

The Bears started Bagent for some reason when Keenum is clearly better. They beat the Eagles with Keenum, so the choice never made sense. Bagent had a hard time completing a forward pass. Keenum came in and was kind of running the offense well, problem was they were down by 24, so the checkdowns and positive gains weren't enough.

Packers hit like 4 big plays in the game and that was the difference. Their RBs aren't anything special, so I actually think it's a decent matchup for us (theoretically assuming NFL players play like NFL players lol). Stop the run with 6 or 7 and keep Watson and Golden in front. Hopefully we can learn from what Flores did to Love early in the season.

Love wants to take deep shots, so don't let him.

Bagent started the game against the Jets the week before and played fine

He was under 8 yards per attempt against the Jets with no TDs and 1 pick. Keenum was similar against better competition and didn't turn it over.

They were also able to run for almost 250 against the Jets. They just needed to be able to have the threat of the pass against GB and GB wasn't worried about it at all.
