Going to start every day with "fire Schottenheimer" and "fire Christian Parker."

The east is so bad this year the cowboys may still be a playoff team. Unless 4 goes down (I hope he does not). You would think they would just run a ton of blitzes since they cant cover anyone.

It is actually Insane they didn't even take a look at ben johnson. I dont mind the swing and miss on parker in theory. Young guy who has a lot of positive reviews. But its not working.

I don't think Ben Johnson was touching this job with a 10' foot pole. He was always going to pick the perfect spot for him, and Chicago was that place.

With only 32 jobs, guys will take them. But I could also see him choosing bears over boys just to avoid the jones. Still they should have made him say no.

The team as this point is just laughably bad - specifically on defense (and has been for some time). Jerry simply keeps rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. I continue to see high draft day reviews but in reality the guys the Cowboys draft, specifically on defense, are way overvalued by Jerry.

I know I'm rambling but I feel like they continue to give money to players who are on the decline or who are overvalued simply because they wear a Cowboys uniform while the media continues to overhype them. I think a good example of this is Bland - you hear how good of a player he is - but when push comes to shove, he just doesn't cut it.

I'll be mildly surprised if CP is still calling the defense for game 6…

You're dead on with the draft day reviews. They had 2 1st round picks in the Top 25 and neither has left a mark. I'll give Downs a bit of a pass bc he's basically had to switch positions after 2 games but nobody mentions that Lawrence hasn't done a thing at a position of need.

This defense looks worse than last year with all new players and a new coach. Maybe the dimwit HC has no clue how to run a camp and get them ready to go. You also have the one person who is the 30 year constant.

I am not a fan of what I've seen of Parker, but 4 bad defenses under 4 different DCs in 4 years tells you that changing to a 5th DC will help nothing. Major talent infusion needed. They have a shaky secondary and don't have an edge threat. That will get you hammered in this league regardless of who your DC is.

Yes, but no. I do believe that having four d-coordinators and four bad defenses points to a talent issue. What I disagree with is the reason this particular defense is bad is purely a talent issue. Say what you want, but jerry has gone out and spent capital to upgrade this defense, even if only marginally. So in my eyes, the talent is better than it has been in recent years. So why is the defense still the worst in the NFL?

I understand that we still do not have a plethora of talent, but I don't think it's arguable that the talent on defense this year is better than last year, yet we are just as bad if not worse.

I think coaching and scheme are bigger issues. Guys are just not in the right places and look confused. Dan Quinn had them pretty locked in.

I also think the cowboy offense doesn't seem to turn it on until they are behind and that puts pressure on the defense. If they got a lead they could focus more on the pass defense and rushing the QB.

Also they seem uninspired most the time. That might be a culture issue


The Seahawks were on a slow decline before switching coaches and it made all the difference. The cowboys have missed terribly on coaching hires. Give this team another Jimmy Johnson and watch it take off.

Its been an annoying trend with the offense. The broadcast pointed out how many points they put up in the second half of games. They look silly a few drives then go into turbo mode at the back half of games.
