It's clear to me we absolutely must sign Joey Porter to an extension. He's the only cover guy we have in the secondary. Everyone else can't cover a receiver with a blanket. We probably need to let Pickens walk to get it done but I'm ok with that.

Yeah, Porter has looked good. Small sample size, but he looks noticeably better than anything we've had in a few years.

The guys that make a living covering Cowboys / Dallas sports are officially DONE with this team.

I hadn't heard that Aikman had any interest in coaching, but I could see him being very successful like John Lynch.

Most people champion Aikman for GM. Of course that will never happen because of Jerry's nonsense about the deal he made with the public when he bought the team was that he'd always be GM or whatever.

Coach. He has expressed a desire to coach in the past but not sure if he would do so for Jones.

Jerry already implied in the Netflix special that working with his kids is more important than anything else including winning. Again, he didn't say that outright, but he implied it. Nothing is changing with this org as long as the Jones family runs it. There's a long line of grandkids ready to be just as inept and clueless to run this organization for years to come.

Hot take, but outside of the on field football coaches that we all want gone, I think the scouting department and player ops need a serious audit.

Do the Cowboys draft poorly? No. But do the Cowboys also draft extremely well? I'd also argue no. We hit okay on the high picks (albeit Caleb Downs looks like dog**** right now), but it feels like we get absolutely NOTHING from rounds 2-7. I don't expect us to go out and draft future all-pros in the fifth round, but you do have to draft solid contributors etc. and I don't think we do that near enough.

They either failed to report, and then allowed Hurts to play through, a serious issue then after the fact tried to downplay and understate what happened...or their medial staff is incompetent. Either way the NFL can severely punish them for this.

Not a great look.

The Super Bowl choke has to eat him alive. Him of all people I can understand having the burning desire. Because it is a little different for him.

But let's be honest, he walked into a situation with a franchise QB and that 2016 run was all Kyle Shanahan. Even he must know that. That thing bottomed out almost immediately after he left for SF.

But I will say that, ironically, the reason Quinn doesnt have a ring is because of Shanahan losing his mind for a few minutes in the 4th quarter of that Superbowl. People talk about Seattle not running it from the one in the SB, but Atlanta not running on their final drive of regulation was even worse because all they needed to do was run it. They didnt even need anything good to happen when they did it. They just needed to run the clock and kick the FG and the game was over.

No, not even close. This Cowboys team got EMBARASSED by the Giants week 1. So how do they have the best roster. Highly paid does not mean best. With Hurts and Dart out that makes Dak the 2nd best QB. We don't have the best OL or RB or TE or any level or position group on defense. Do you think Tampa Bay has a better roster than the current iteration of NFC East teams? Because the Cowboys were losing to the undrafted rookie QB led Bucs 24-10 until well into the 4Q.

The Cowboys roster is a total S show due to a small # of players being vastly overpaid and the result is the remaining Cowboy players are less than NFL average, with predictable results.

Schotty isn't the problem, Jerry as GM and his roster are the problem and has been for 20+ years.

EVERY SEASON TWO, TWO NFC teams make the NFC championship game. EVERY NFC team other than the Cowboys have made the NFC champ game since 2010 except one…. Cowboys.

Jerry is incompetent when it comes to anything regarding football, the game on the field and NFL team roster building. He is a carnival barker and marketer, pitching for the official tampon/beer/bug repellant/toilet paper of the Dallas Cowboys.
