I'm gonna say you need to start learning about the other CBs in this draft not named Henderson or Okudah.

Some people think Diggs (Bama) is better than Henderson straight up. Kristian Fulton (LSU) is also high on lots of boards and not out of the questions for any team in the top 20.



I keep hearing over and over from mock drafts "this team lost Robert Quinn". Well, we also lost Byron Jones! Pretty sure we are gonna go CB at 17 and if not then maybe a safety that we know can come down and cover... McKinney most likely.

you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of NFL contracts and QBs based on this and your Dak/Russell Wilson posts.

Daniel Jones would be a $21mm cap hit if he is traded or cut. Do you realy think they are going to draft a QB in round 1 and keep Jones?

OBJ was being an ass and demanding a trade, Jones has done nothing to disrupt the team. And the cap hit is about 7mm higher for Jones if he is traded than it was for OBJ. The two situations are not remotely comparable.


and what does Saban and Tua's surgery have to do with the Oregon QB?

Why are you correcting me about how contracts work when I mentioned $25 million left of Jones contract? I also said Jones doesn't have to be traded because his salary is what back ups are making.

I said from the beginning the Herbert/Giant reports look like a smoke screen.

The smoke screen is letting the Dolphins think the only QB you like is Herbert so they don't make a trade with the Lions.


Tua is who the Giants want and Herbert is the smoke screen.

And by the way, I've been a Cowboy fan since the 70's an Aggie since the 90's. I really don't appreciate you or the Kanye kid insulting my intelligence.

I'm not insulting your intelligence. You may very well be the smartest person on this forum, but that doesn't change your misunderstanding of QBs and contracts. What does being a fan since the 70s have to do with anything? I've been a fan my whole life also.

Sorry to interrupt but I'm gonna talk draft!


Thinking we are going to see some things very much stray from the mocks we've been seeing. This whole Corona deal has not only made it very difficult for these "experts" to get a feel for what each team is thinking... It's also nuts that none of these teams have really been able to dig into these players. Absolutely nothing happening past the draft other than virtual meetings.

Not being able to get a hands on medical eval on Tua is a prime example of how unequipped these teams must feel going into tonight. Gonna be wild I think.

That's why I mentioned JG's relationship with Saban.

Tua was the undisputed #1 pick before the injury. What team would be in better position to let Tua sit until he is 100% than the Giants with Jones' rookie contract?

I didn't watch the whole thing (can't stand Eisen either) but I don't think the story isn't about Jerry discussing the #1 pick for real...it's that when he tried to mock how conversations around trades will happen the whole league could hear him and not just the team he's trying to talk to. I have a feeling something ridiculous is going to happen tonight regarding olds trying to use technology.

I'd also take Burrow over Dak all day erry day.

I went back & re-watched all of the available Chaisson tape I could find on youtube & I am on board with him being the pick at 17. He's smart on & off the field and would give Tank a run for his money on being a leader. He is a high ceiling player & his floor is a lot higher than Taco. He can drop back in coverage, more than hold his own against the run, & is only scratching the surface as a pass rusher. For us he will probably play the SAM linebacker position on early downs & rush from the EDGE on 3rd down.

When did I claim to be an expert? I understand yeh basic concepts of how these contracts work. Didn't realize people get their panties in a twist when things are explained to them.

Chaisson seems like a good kid with a cool story. He quit football to play basketball his sophomore year. Was talked into going to an LSU football camp with a buddy... Was offered a scholarship by Coach O at the camp.

Not sure if there's any truth to the smoke some cbs insiders are picking up but 2 of them just mocked Chinn to Dallas at 17. I'd be pissed with that pick at 17. If they're going to take Chinn, then they better trade back.

I'm OK with Chaisson only because as far as edge rushers go, it's him & young... after that it's a whole bunch of Taco Charltons.

My opinion is our secondary is the greatest need, but that shouldn't be the only factor for our 1st pick. So I have no issues with that pick, they just better be right about him. If we are gonna make a run we need to hit with our top 3 picks and find 1 or 2 more contributors in the other rounds.

I would take that above draft scenario in a heart beat.

But like others have said, lotsa those players seem highly unlikely as available when the Cowboys picks come around in those rounds.

I think best realistic scenario, without any trades, is to take Chiasson at 17 and take best available DB at 51. I think there will be an immediate starter quality player there in Arnette, Winfield Jr, Chinn, Dugger or possibly Delpit.

Chinn's highlights look legit... I can see why the Cowboys like him. Sounds like a sharp kid and I can guarantee you after watching his interview Jerry is having visions of Darren Woodson.
