About time these RINOs got what has been coming to them. Too bad Abbott didn't go after more.

https://www.expressnews.com/politics/article/abbott-school-vouchers-primary-18703119.php

Now we need to pressure these guys to pass a GOOD voucher bill, rather than a watered down one meant too appease RINOs.

This article is wild from khou .

https://www.khou.com/article/news/politics/elections/texas-republicans-primary-election-results-2024/285-e0aa4376-8c62-4c93-bbc3-8a44d5f508a8

At the very bottom, it's a story from the texas tribune. Maybe khou should choose a less overtly biased contributor before they try and pass it off as news.

Looking forward to how you keep rural schools funded when one of your primary mechanisms is still Robin Hood. Secondly will these vouchers be accepted by private schools. I know some don't because they know strings will be stretched. But you don't hear that. You think the bureaucrats are going sit idly by?
We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by fighting and by showing the Germans that we've got more guts than they have, or ever will have. We're not going to just shoot the sons-of-b******, were going to rip out their living G*******d guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun c********** by the bushel-f****** basket. War is a bloody killing business. You've got to spill their blood or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shot them in the guts.

Jacey Jetton goes down to Matt morgan as well in fort bend.

Can't vote to impeach and obstruct vouchers.

Total death sentence. Kind of saw it coming especially when Neils called him a liberal.

nothing will change how good rural school are funded.

if they are good schools and people like them, why would there be a mass exodus of kids leaving?

and anyone whose school is supported by robin hood should be a little embarrassed.

some will, some won't. that is not a reason not to pass the bill and let people choose where their money goes. I know you are big robin hood guy, but conservative texas republicans want to spend their money on their kids.

Bureaucrats hold 99% of the strings now. Do you think bureaucrats will hold less or more or the same number of strings when poor children, with no choice now, can choose to go to a better school than the failing school they are in now?

Yes, as a tax paying member of a district that is sending 72 million dollars back to Texas, I totally find no flaws that im personally paying higher taxes to fund school districts far away from my location.

It'd be nice to give the teachers a raise and I bet 72 million would cover it. But we need to raise the taxes to provide such a lift.

Frankly, I'm tired of the education racket. It's always more money. It's always more resources. More more more more. And the results get worse and worse and worse

That's not how this works broseph.

I can choose the type of truck or vehicle. I can choose the amount of which I drive it. The vehicle cannot pass bonds or taxes when it wants to upgrade its stereo system.

I can fire the truck and replace it at will.

Except that it's not always more money. Schools are being funded at the same rate they were in 2019.

And the results aren't getting worse and worse but since you're told by voucher proponents that the sky is falling, then by God the sky must be falling.

I'm pretty sure passing bonds is done in an election where the voters who are affected get to say yes or no. But maybe I don't understand how the process works.

So you think schools have gotten a 30% increase in funding? The state allotment is the same as it has been since 2019. It has not increased 30%.

Never read or listened to a voucher proponent's stump speech except for posters here on texags.

I see in 2018 we were spending aboutb 10,500 per pupil and in 2023 were spending 12,600 per student.

Is it relatively down in your estimation because the cash cow of covid ended?

We're tapped out bro. Stop spending the money on beaurocrats, big athletic programs, dei, and other waste. Do less.

The results are not better despite massive increases in spending. We could spend far less and do just was well:

I guess you don't mind having a toll booth at every intersection. Or to make it more efficient we can put a GPS on your vehicle to track where you drive and send you a bill every month. We promise the government won't use your travel data for anything nefarious

Bottom line is be careful what you wish for. You may get your choice, and everyone else will too...including foreigners with weird religious ideas who want to send their kids to schools where they preach from a weird holy book.

I know this is sarcasm but whenever possible people should be paying for themselves and stop using the power of the government to steal from citizens to pay for other citizens crap. Every incremental step towards this reality is welcome. Some area will always be pooled but everyone should be paying the same rate for that service.

It's not like they actually should get a check.

Whatever $ amount assigned to a school per pupil should follow that kid to whatever school they attend, not automatically be claimed by whatever school they'd be enrolled in without choice.

Either way, you the individual tax payer, will be supplementing the same way
