I skimmed fire and blood a few years ago and only recall the high points of the plot. To put it in perspective as a "book reader" I zoned out when F&B started going into dragonseeds and who claimed what cringey dragon name. Example: I was stunned when Luke was attacked at the end of season 1 by aemond on Vhagar. Same goes for Hugh and Ulf. Don't recall the specifics at all, just now revisiting as the show reveals it all.

I figured it was all justification for GRRM to retcon non-Targs riding dragons before the imminent publication of the winds of winter. LOL on me.

I still think that's all it is but GoT ended and GRRM was butthurt by the response to the HBO fan reaction. So there have been some major rewrites of the source material.

Now this show has taken a life of its own so I'm watching with no expectations. We've already seen some severe deviations that shall not be mentioned. The acting is mostly superb. The story… is slightly above average. But we are into fan fiction territory so it is what it is.

For the record, I think winds of winter is coming soon.

In the Season 1 thread some ******* poster (a nobody who got banned shortly after) was an in an e-fight with another poster and spoiled then fate of a major character from the book. So thanks to that jackass, as a non book reader, I know what happens in the book to this person. Maybe they do something different in the show, but based on who the character is and the circumstances of the event, I doubt it.

I initially advised caution when on social media, but now it's reached the point where people should avoid it altogether.

It really is a shame that shows can't just happen anymore without the leeching social media dregs of society who scramble to make their presence known.

It's a study in psychology of people who want to be in the know but are not in the know for sure.

To me it seems like the mom is more of an easter egg than spoiler

Season 2 finale bump. Haven't seen any spoilers this week and don't recall the specifics of F&B. Heck the show is its own thing at this point.

Looking forward to some bad ass stuff.

I'm hoping for more from the Starks in the finale. Shame we haven't seen more from them after the scene at the wall.

Everything with Daemon this episode was great, including clearly being "mostly" changed and pledging his loyalty anew.

What I expected tbh for where we are at. There is so much left it's a whole season at least.
