Complete guess on my part, but based on her "There's more than one way to win a war" and other context clues I think she is going to try to plant it in the minds of the people of kings landing to lead a revolt. Let them know they have the numbers, etc.

This episode laid the groundwork. The people are pissed. They are running out of resources and food. Just look at what Centerpoint has done to the masses in Houston. Same thing.

I have been very disappointed in Daemon this season. It's like he got neutered or something. In season one, he had no issue taking a dude's head. This year, he seems afraid to do anything. I get that he didn't want to burn the entire army, but to let everyone walk at the beginning of the episode was stupid. At least he should have had his dragon eat the leader and then seen what the next in line says.

In fact, I would say the dragons are far less intimidating than I would expect. Outside of last week's battle, no one seems to really be all that afraid of them.

I just don't follow what they're intending with all of the visions/hallucinations Daemon is experiencing. And the dark haired "witch" lady… she's trouble.

Her errand is to go to a brothel in King's Landing and meet with a prostitute. You'll have to imagine what happens from there...

Pretty much. I mean, at least to the people in the Riverlands, he's weak and incompetent. The Riverlands can do pretty much whatever they want.

The blacksmith is the one who referred to the dragon head/dragons as nothing more than meat right? It would be pretty wild if the peasantry revolted and raided the dragon pits in desperation to stave off starvation.
Well, there's now only one dragon in King's Landing, and he's the biggest and the meanest... So, good luck with that.

Yeah, when homeboy called Daemon's bluff and walked away and Daemon didn't let his dragon cook him up...he lost some river cred, for sure.

The sister-queen has a dragon, doesn't she? And didn't Otto mention one of Alicent's other kids has a dragon in whatever town he or she is living?

Legend has it that Harrenhal is cursed, which explains Daemon's visions/hallucinations.

Ok. Maybe there are more dragons than I realize. For some reason, I thought only Aegon and Aemond had dragons. I could just be thinking that, because that is all we've seen of Team Green.

It will also become the site of the tourney where Rhaegar crowns Lyanna as the Queen of Love and
Beauty over his wife.

I saw a theory on Youtube today that said the witch lady has no interactions with anyone other than Daemon, and that she may actually be a hallucination of Daemon's as part of the Harrenhal curse.

I'd really, really like to know HBO's grand plan for this show and the other Westeros properties. It seems like this arc should be only 3 season, but looking like they can stretch it to 4.

Then Dunk and Egg will come next, but there is still a considerable amount of time between the ending of the Dance of Dragons and when Dunk and Egg begins. If HBO doesn't shorten the dynasty between HotD and D&E, the events will take place during the reign of Viserys I's great-great-great grandchild.

Between HotD and D&E, there are lots of bleak things that happen and I am not sure if there will be an appetite 20+ years after GoT originally premiered on HBO to consume more stuff in the Seven Kingdoms. The material is interesting for sure and I'd be all for it though.

Then after D&E there's lots of potential to get up Robert's Rebellion. Keep in mind that in HBO's GoT, there is at least one generation cut out. The reign of Aegon V through the Mad King's reign would all be interesting to see.

Didn't the lord there look directly at her in one of the scenes?

I think they could probably fit the Dunk and Egg stories just about anywhere. They are far less grand. There's very little about the "Game of Thrones" and much more about fun stories of a Hedge Knight and his companion. The biggest issue I see with them is that there will likely be a ton of confusion with having another Aegon in the world.

Had to look it up

So crazy green sister does have a dragon. Number of riderless dragons out there too - which they are hinting at for next episodes.

Could always throw in some additional Blackfyre stuff or Aegon's conquest.

They've flirted with other stories as well but ended up abandoning them. I'd love to see something in Valyria that explains the Doom (if it wasn't a natural disaster).

Not every Game of Thrones story needs to be a series. I think some could be a movie, like the Doom of Valyria. That could make a great disaster movie.

I'd love to see a series about Bran the Builder constructing the wall. And stories north of the wall with the wildlings.

King's Landing revolt is coming. They have been setting that up all season.

Jace is impressive. He treated with both the Starks and Freys successfully. He is also able to communicate with Rhaenyra in a way no one else can.

It's amazing that anyone in Westeros wants Harrenhal. It's a cursed money pit by all accounts.

Haven't the Frey's always been known as a house that will go against its word? Or was that strictly when Walder Frey was in charge?

Just wondering if we have to worry that the Freys will go back on their commitment to Rhaenyra.

Freys don't actually have that bad of a reputation outside of Walder Frey and at the time of Game of Thrones. Prior to House of the Dragon's events you could even classify them as fairly reliable Targaryen loyalists.

They are however considered to be new money upstarts and so they always have an inferiority complex about it in the background books. They've only held the Twins for several centuries which makes them very much new money compared to Starks and Lannisters.

There was a lot of setups in this episode and I feel like it will be referenced in "previously on" intros.

Seems like things could go a lot of different ways based on the actions made in the episode.

So, I don't get the strategic importance of the Eyrie. In both HotD and GoT they made a big point of how it's impregnable, but couldn't someone just blockade the gates and then basically ignore it?

Sure, someone could fly Vhagar up there and burn it to the ground, but what does that really get you? I get Harenhall because it's in the middle of the most fertile land of Westeros. The Twins allow transport between the North and the South. Driftmark can blockade sea transport. Dragonstone is home to the most dragons. King's Landing is the capital. I understand the importance of nearly every other location they mention in the show, but I've never really understood why anyone would waste any thought with the Eyrie. There is only one way in and one way out. That makes it difficult to conquer, but also it means you could just block the road and they are stuck there.

Not sure it's so much about the location as it is the alliance and the ground troops that The Blacks so badly need. IIRC the Knights of the Vale are one of the greatest forces among the major houses in Westeros.

I think it's more about the Vale as a whole. It's good land, Has access to sea trade along its coastline, is near the riverlands and crownlands, and they have a large, well-trained army. Wouldn't want to ignore them.

Yeah I think the Eryie just guards the entrance to the Vale, which is a whole lot of valuable land
