Maybe it's just me but I very rarely find a dream sequence to be necessary or useful, including Daemon's.

Cool episode though. Could have easily fallen into a CGI fest like the end of Shan-Chi but this episode somehow avoided that by keeping it grounded with the infantry's perspective on the dragon fight. And the interactions between dragon and rider

He did, there was that scene where he was singing in High Valyrian and Vermitho appears out of the shadow and just breathes fire for 10+ seconds. Then slowly approaches him and stares at Daemon for a while.
Surely that comes back into play in some way.

Could Aemond see the writing on the dagger since it was heated by the fire?

Also, Daemon needs to get away from Harrenhal. Is Alys Rivers working with anyone to keep him there in a dream state and blinded from what is going on elsewhere?

Wife and I were in agreement. Don't recall the last time we saw an episode of any series at all that blew us away like tonight.

This show is amazing. We did this a couple times in the last ten minutes. Oh my f.

Technically, a number of us agreed years ago that anything officially released by any studio was fair game and not considered a "spoiler." IMO, asking people to not freely talk about "next week" previews (which hardly ever give anything away of substance) is the same as asking people to not talk about trailers in general, which would be pretty pointless. That said, I'm all for spoiler tags for "next week" previews, but whether people listen/see this or not is a different issue altogether.

I asked my wife, "Why is she flying so low?" RIP Meleys.

Rhaenys went out like a G. Aemond got his revenge for all of Aegon's transgressions. Cole had a decent plan until his dumb king screwed it up. Brilliant episode.

I feel Daemon is wasted at Harrenhal. Those scenes there are getting stale. He did have a good line about a nice feather pillow for Tully though.

One of the cooler things about the episode was that they "ended it" three times. They dared to black like the episode was over and then came back. The first one when you didn't know who was dead or alive would have been a super cool finish.

Blacks got incredibly lucky. Getting Aegon was dumb luck in having him show up at all, much less drunk, and with his brother either willfully for "accidentally" burning him to hell.

Had he not shown up, it would've been another black dragon(rider) down, with next to no cost to the Green forces.

Really hope the Blacks start turning it around soon, as they're getting thoroughly outplayed thus far. And now with Rhaenys gone, we need Daemon, Corlys, and Rhaenyra on the same page. (And I'm guessing the ******* son is gonna have a major part to play the rest of the season/series.)

Greens did leave King's Landing undefended, but I doubt Dragonstone could get that news in time to be able to do anything about it.

Losing Aegon could be just as much a good thing for team green. Lose an incompetent ruler and gain a martyr all in one.

Fair point. Although, I would also say Aemond's claim to the throne isn't nearly as clear as Aegon's was as he's not the first-born son.

If news spreads that Aegon is dead (or grievously injured), my guess is some of the houses who've pledged to Cole may flip to Rhaenyra, not only due to questions of inheritance, but out of fear of Black dragons outnumbering the Green dragons by quite a few.

But that really depends on Daemon GTFO'ing Harrenhal and getting his **** together quick.

Still think the loot train attack from GoT season 7 episode 4 is highly underrated....first time we ever saw dragons in combat in a GoT series. It wasn't dragon on dragon, but getting a feel of just how underpowered any soldiers were against dragons and that dragons were the ultimate checkmate. In addition, Daenerys vs Jamie Lannister was pretty gripping for characters whose arcs were built up over 7 seasons.

Don't think we will get that type of feeling in this series as we just aren't connected to these characters and their stories.

who/what is cannibal?
Cannibal is a massive dragon that eats other dragons and may be as big as Vhaegar.

who/what is cannibal?
Cannibal is an unclaimed wild dragon. IIRC he was attacking and killing smaller dragons in the dragon pit. Due to this no one would try to claim him so they released him into the wild. There are rumors he's the largest dragon in existence, bigger than Vhaegar, but no one knows because no one has any interest in finding out.

Valyrian blood is what you need. But not even all of them ride dragons as shown by some of the current characters that don't have one.

Has Cannibal been mentioned in the show or is this a book thing., I don't recall. I really think the hint in the show is Vermithor unless they introduce Cannibal.

Cannibal has not been directly mentioned in the show. There was only one mention in season 1, by Daemon, that there are 3 wild dragons on Dragonstone.
