You mean 13 episodes and two years ago? Yeah, there's no way I - and many others - are remembering the details from that.
Tell me how much you can remember from Andor. 12 episodes and 2 years ago?

Fewer characters, the names are easier to remember, each plot line is more distinct from the other, and it's simply better overall. That, and I've also watched multiple episodes twice.

You're not going to live this one down anytime sooon, at least on this thread.

Be like you're watching a story about Jesus in the New Testament and TC's like "Who's this God guy everyone's blathering on about? Was he in one of the episodes? "

The next episode is titled "A Dance of Dragons", actual fighting has to happen with that title unless they are going to Stomp the Yard

I hope you're right, because they can't keep holding off the action, but this episode was titled, "Battle of the Burning Mill" and the battle happened entirely off screen.

I admit, they did a good job of reminding the audience this episode, an episode I hadn't watched yet before replying to Spilner's little spat.

One thing I liked, and didn't notice in the previous episodes, is that they are adding events from previous episodes into the intro. I noticed this time they had a rat catcher hanging.

What is the deal with Deamon wanting to callee Your Grace and not My Prince?

I also like this line
"The Throne?"
"It's a chair. Made out of swords."

I love how y'all are ganging up on someone who only vaguely knows who a character is. This show has an insane family tree and most casual viewers just don't care, myself included.

Yeah the conqueror has been brought up many times but I wouldn't remember much about him either.

Laughable nerd rage.

Your Grace is reserved for the King or Queen. He would normally not be called Your Grace because he is King Consort (married to the Queen) and not the actual King. By demanding to be called Your Grace, he is showing he still has desire for the crown.

Yes, a joke!

Matt Smith is starting to basically just play the same role he played in The Crown - royalty who isn't in charge and EFFFIN HATES IT.

I can't put my finger on it, but this year just seems to be lacking something so far compared to last. Still better than 95 percent of TV (or more), but just not the same. Maybe it's because the secondary characters just don't seem quite as compelling as last year or GOT years and it's hurting the overall drama level maybe? Also, so many of them pop in and out for an episode or 2 a year that if you haven't read the books keeping up with them isn't always easy. Not bailing for sure, just a different vibe.

I looked at IMDB to see if it was just me and all three of this season's episodes are the lowest rated of the series to date.

It's because these episodes have all been basically the same,

- King wants to go to war, council and everyone else mostly trying to talk him out of it
- Queen doesn't want to go to war, council and everyone else mostly trying to talk her into it
- An incredibly stupid undercover mission with practically no chance of success
- Catastrophic failure of said mission leaving someone dead but not the intended person (at least nobody died in the third one)
- Dramatic fallout of the always doomed mission

It is war, FINALLY.

Is it, though? I feel like that's been the feeling after every episode recently. I understand trying to add build up, but I feel like they are well past the point of war. I mean, if the killing of a baby didn't do it, I'm not sure why we should think the conversation in the Sept really changes that.
Dang it. Stop making sense and crushing all my hopes. If I hear "prudence" and "restraint" in any more small council meetings I may go out like Tommen Baratheon.

I disagree. I think there was a small part of Rhaenyra that still believed Alicent still wanted peace, but she refused to acknowledge it until this episode because she was blinded by the anger of losing her son.

But Alicent refusing to listen to reason and doubling down basically just gave her free reign to go full steam ahead with a "clear" conscience.

Everything that happens from here on out is squarely on Alicent, in her mind. You could see the look of determination on her face at the end of their conversation. She is in war mode.

She's an idiot if she thought Alicent was willing to settle. Seriously, what did she think would happen.

"Dad, was just talking crazy. He really wanted me to be Queen still."

"Oh, really? My bad. I guess you can be Queen now. Sorry about your dead son."

"No worries. Sorry about your dead grand baby. Friendsies?"

"Best Friendsies!"

For me the biggest thing that bugged me is that Alicent wouldn't immediately alert her guards to capture Rhaenyra.
TCTTS

Except Rhaenyra didn't go into that conversation with that knowledge. She was simply trying to get Alicent to talk her side off the ledge. Then, mid-conversation, once Rhaenyra realized the miscommunication that lead to the whole ordeal, she tried to explain it. To which Alicent essentially said it doesn't matter, because the revenge-obsessed boys are running the show now.
TCTTS

Why would she do that? Considering their history, that would be completely out of character for her.
bobinator

Because she could end the war now.

I get maybe not at the beginning of the conversation, maybe she wants to hear her out, but by the end they're both admitting there's no way out, so why let her go? Sportsmanship?

Admittedly it's not the dumbest thing about this scene, I have no idea why they couldn't have the two of them secretly meet outside the city or something.

You guys are forgetting that allicent sent rhae-rhae a message that we didn't get to see. Just a few words of it. Clearly whatever allicent wrote was enough for rhaenyra to believe there was another solution to war. And they all know it will come to dragons, and since we know there are no dragons left for a while, it's worth the risk.

You can't bring weapons into the great sept. So from the standpoint of Rhaenyra being safe from the green guards it made the most sense. That's why they were able to take cersei prisoner in game of thrones, her guards weren't allows in.

For all the crap I've gotten for not knowing some historical dude's name, it's amazing to me what some of you "experts" are missing in terms of motivations/context clues.

Alicent doesn't just want to prevent war, she wants to prevent killing her former best friend. For three episodes now, all Alicent has done is give Rheanyra the benefit of the doubt, in conversation after conversation, to the point where it's clear that, deep down, she still cares for her. She's not some general who's thinking how *only* to save thousands of lives/prevent a war. She's a woman who's letting her feelings and her nostalgia get the best of her in that moment, which is perfectly understandable.

As for why the two of them didn't secretly meet outside the city, they literally explained this, as Rheanyra said Alicent will assume it's a trap, same as Rheanyra would if the situation were reversed.

I know, they also just handwaved this away in the show, they mentioned that any sort of official channels and they'd both be expecting trickery, but it's just insane that the literal queen went undercover into King's Landing to have this chat. Come up with some sort of reason that Alicent has to leave King's Landing and doesn't know it's a meeting with Rhaenyra or one of a thousand other ways to do this. It's ridiculous.

I mean they smuggled tyrion into KL to meet with Jaimie after everyone thought he had killed both Joffrey and tywin. Surely the killer of the king and the hand getting in and out is more unlikely?
