Pyrethroids in general are very toxic in fish so that part was fairly accurate. They whole melting skin off effect on humans is definitely over the top. I had a little chuckle at that scene

I'm well aware of the dangers of Paraquat.
The problem is Paraquat is an herbicide. Pyrethroids are insecticides.


Man I could have sworn they said a pyrethroid. I've never dealt with paraquat, only pyrethroids.

I am confused on why the tribal representative is so upset with Rainwater allowing Dutton to become governor. The Native Americans were against the development as well weren't they? Everything Dutton has done or talked about doing is what they are pushing for as well?

Rainwater is playing the long game, and realizes the developers are a bigger short-term threat to their land than John Dutton...who essentially wants the same thing as the tribe (unspoiled land), but the tribe still believes the Yellowstone Ranch should be theirs. Outside forces have been the greater threat.

Young, activist, lawyer chick wants to take the Duttons down now and think Rainwater is being weak...and I think her scheme will backfire.

They've slowly eased the tension between Rainwater and John as the seasons have gone on...to the point where they are more allies than enemies. I think they'll find a way to coexist in the end.

I still think they should arrange it so Tate gets the land in the end. He's part NA so that should get them around all the hindrances, leases, etc.

Twitter crowd effing HATES Monica. Their tweets are hilarious.


She's by far the weakest actor on the show. There is a reason why she's never in any scene with Kelly Reilly. I get what they try to do with her character but it just doesn't work because she's so wooden.


Grandma market equities lady would like a word.
Her trying to throw the glass and then doubling down with the bottle was the unintentional comedy highlight of the premiere.

The Milk River is up there and runs across the Canadian border but the river isn't the boundary. Weird scene, but it was just a plot device to put distance between Kayce and Monica.

Man this show is getting worse as the seasons go on but I loved the first 2 seasons so I'll continue.

Gripes:
Monica - JUST DIE ALREADY!!! I seriously fast-forward your scenes and don't miss ANYTHING! Her scenes add no value.
Wolves - So now in Season 5 they're finally a problem. And the plan of tying them onto small logs? LOL!
Buffalo - I knew exactly what was gonna happen when they showed her driving.
Jaime - So Brunette Beth is gonna seduce you? Cool, couldn't see that one coming a mile away!
Beth - Here's where I'm confused. I thought she went cold after her abortion. The flashbacks make it seem like she has always been like that. I could be confused though.
Old lady - her character isn't believable. It could be me but her throwing the glass against the wall was cringeworthy.

Despite the gripes I still like the show. I'm glad it's back!

If I recall from an earlier season I think Beth also had major issues with her mother. Could be why she's damaged and the abortion took it to another level.

Haven't read thread. Finished S5 premiere. Big takeway: Shane Smith & The Saints suck. That first song was rough by my fellow Austinites.

Edit: Typos. Almost as bad as their tunes.

Pretty good season premiere. The old lady throwing the bottle of bourbon was funny. She's very dwarf-life.

I, too, want to see more of the new ME "Evil Beth" character.

Speaking of Market Equities, did anyone else notice when they had a shot on their building with the sign they never showed all of it…just part of the "t" and then Equities. Seemed weird.

I do like how Tate's mom is recovering from a car crash and the loss of her child and he's working hard to get his dad laid again.

Excited for next week!

Give them another shot or two. First song is their brand new single called "Fire in the Ocean," and the 2nd song is an old one called "Dance the Night Away."

They definitely have a different sound than what's out there in the Texas music/Red Dirt scene. I first started listening to them about 3-4 years ago, and I thought they were meh at first. But they've grown on me a lot, especially after seeing them live. They are absolutely fantastic live and easily the most entertaining live on the Texas scene now.

Sheridan already put their music on the show twice last season. First time was when Jimmy was leaving the ranch for Texas in Sheridan's truck. It's their most popular song called "All I See is You." They played it again in the following episode.

Yes I'm shamelessly plugging them. They just got done touring with Whiskey Myers this year, so they're slowly gaining a following. Listen to their 5 popular songs on Spotify and the "Geronimo" album, specifically "Lord Bury Me In Texas." That's probably my favorite song of theirs. Hopefully I can change your mind. Like I said, they grow on ya, especially live. They're playing this Friday in Luckenbach, and yes, I'll be there.

Noticed the signage as well, and figured the same - must be a cropped shot of the real signage. Going to it twice was odd and made it stand out. Also, when the old lady threw the glass & bottle, it looked like a window / glass wall in that direction on the next camera shot. I guess that shows how angry she is about the situation.

Market equities old lady character is horrible, fake and annoying.

Beth always drunk, hurling insults at Jamie, and crying mascara eyes is getting old.

Rip seems to be more sentimental now for some reason. Needs to go back to being a badass. And that was his plan to solve the wolf issue? Tie those collars to logs? Dumb.

And as mentioned thousands of times, Monica is such a drag on the show. They picked the wrong person to die in the car wreck.

Really enjoyed the first episode but I 100% agree- I am sick of Beth degrading and basically being a now dominatrix to Jamie. I'm completely over the non-stop negativity and gloom and doom surrounding Monicas entire character. She was already a joy beater before, now we are going to have to deal with her after losing her unborn child? Oh the joy. I'm not sure if you guys watched Sheridan's other spin off Mayor of Kingstown or not. However, it also has the story angle of the antagonist sending some hot chick to try and seduce one of/the main characters. Definitely not a mirror image or anything like that. But come on man- mix it up across your shows. If he is going to make so many shows, realize people who love Yellowstone will probably watch them and want some variety. With that said... Lets Freaking go!!!!!!

The horse scene was so dumb. That horse would have been screaming about his broken leg. And then they blame the kid? That kind of stuff just happens when you ride horses. It sucks but it happens, not his fault. Plus why does Canada have a whole army of mounties just waiting for horse thieves at the border? Especially the border with Montana! There isn't much out there.
