Well this was pretty far off , could still be in the movie, but not the trailer
I read an interesting thing on TheForce.net's boards speculating that the shot of Rey and Kylo shattering the statue together takes place when she sneaks on board his ship to steal that dagger. He is looking for her in the Force and realizes she's on board his ship n his quarters and tries to attack her through the Force. The two of them both swing lightsabers and both hit a column made of black material with Vader's helmet on top, shattering it together even though Kylo's not actually there.
That makes a lot of sense. And apparently there's a lot of "Force fighting" between them, fighting each other from separate physical locations.
I didn't pick up on the dagger until reading your post above Muck. Is the dagger the same from the Mortis story arc in Clone Wars?

I have seen all the back and forth on Reddit about if Matt Smith is in the movie and potential roles, but why has this become such a big deal? Could people be over stating his role and hes simply another celebrity cameo like Abrams used in TFA?Body By Fisher said:

Also, from the leaks on Kylo's fate it seems like evryone is dissapointed if hes yeeted (love this term) down the hole and thats his end, but I did like one reddit posters theory that Kylo is force projecting himself for the final fight with palps, and the unknown character that ask Reys family name on Tatooine ends up being Kylo. While everybody was focused on Rey and Kylo destroying the black thingie....looks like we missed something else that could be pretty important.

Big deal just because it's Matt Smith. He's freaking Doctor Who, dude. But if you've been following the leaks on reddit, there were rumors of him playing a key role as either a rejuvinated Palpatine or some sort of apprentice.Quote:

I'm sure most of that was just speculation or fanfiction, but all the mystery just adds to the speculation.
I suppose it would be a very JJ thing to get him in as an extra or something just to generate this kind of discussion.

Chewie killed. burn it down. I actually find that funny knowing that the first big death in the old EU books was Chewie and it was a RIOT. I would find it hilarious if they decided to kill him and NOT expect massive crap.

Since this is the spoiler thread I think we can go ahead and put this one to rest. Apparently, the audience/characters are supposed to believe that Chewie dies aboard a ship explosion on the desert planet Pasaana. But then, later in the movie, it's revealed that he wasn't actually aboard the ship / managed to escape before it exploded. Notice in the C-3PO/"One last look at my friends" scene in the trailer, when it cuts to Chewie's "response," it's not in the same location as the other characters, as Poe's shoulder is visible in the Chewie shot, not wearing the jacket he has on when he asks C-3PO what he's doing. It's an editing sleight of hand. Chewie "died" on Pasaana before they go to Kijimi to have C-3PO's mind wiped.
We've also seen C3PO holding the bowcaster, suggesting whatever happens to Chewie happens before C3PO gets wiped.
I think C-3PO is wearing that stuff after his mind is wiped. He's still around, just not the C-3PO we know and love, so they give him Chewie's weapons so he can help out. At least that's what it seems. But then even that is apparently reneged, as R2 has a backup of C-3PO's mind, which is reinstalled later in the movie. Except the backup is from before the events of the movie, if not before the events of the past couple of movies.

Leia's theme in 14 ... breaks my heart.
Track 20 must be the climax music. Multiple dark and light themes in that one.
10 is pretty damn great.
