I find it strange how Ralph Macchio got worse at acting over time. In shows like the original KK and My Cousin Vinny he was pretty good. What happened?

If season 6 brings in Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, I'm out.

I don't know how they can go past 5. How many tournaments are they going to go to? Aren't they going to graduate high school at some point?
I disagree. I think he's trying to hard too be sage like Mr, Miyagi. That he was good acting like a teenager, but can't handle acting like an adult.CondensedFoggyAggie said:aTmAg said:

IMO He's pretty much the exact same character he was in the original kk.
I don't think its the lack of acting, moreso he has almost zero character development.

I'm in the same boat. It was definitely good with some great moments (e.g.,Johnny doing the crane pose and Daniel rolling his eyes), but it wasn't…epic.MBAR said:
I enjoyed the first few seasons and I can't say that I didn't enjoy this one on some level but I also didn't think this one was nearly as good as the fist one or even the others. I don't know how long they plan to carry this show on but if it goes on for more than one more season then I'll probably check out.

Johnny learning feminism will forever go down as one of the funniest moments ever. Epic season.

The writers were on a different level when they had Terry casually mention "it was the 80s and I was coked out of my mind" while they flashbacked to his more eccentric KK3 moments.
Rofl, oh man that was so good.

I'm still confused by the Carrie Underwood appearance. It was just weird and not in a good or funny way.

Johnny is the best actor IMHO on the show. He's absolutely hilarious. He was a better actor than Ralph Macchio when they made the original Karate Kid, and is still better.
There is also Miguel going to Mexico story line. I don't remember if they said this or if I just got the vibe because I watch Narcos, but I somehow have the impression that his dad is a cartel guy. So I expect him to go there and get in deep crap and Johnny/Daniel have to go rescue him somehow. That could be awesome or totally lame, depending on how they do it. The writers have been good so far, so I lean towards the former.River Bass said:
My predictions:
Chozen forms new Miyagi Do since LaRusso and Lawrence lost the tournament and have to close their dojos.
Robby and Tory join new Miyagi Do after realizing how bad Cobra Kai has become.
Krease realizes how bad Cobra Kai is and he helps (consults from prison) the new Miyagi Do in order to beat Terry Silver.
They beat Terry Silver and Johnny gets his Cobra Kai back. LaRusso continues with Miyagi Do. They become friendly competitors. Everyone goes on to college or on with life...
They've got everything teed up in Season 5 to wrap this up perfectly.
I'm not saying I'm out if they draw this beyond 5 seasons because the shows are short, commercial free, and the seasons have only 10 episodes, but I'll be pretty disappointed if they screw up the good thing they've got going.

So good that he got typecasted as a bully and that's pretty much the only roles he could get.

I think this was a pretty good season as well and am definitely excited to see if Miguel ever fights again (I'm thinking he is done which paves the way for Robby), if (when?) Robby defects from Cobra Kai, if Robby and Johnny can actually develop a relationship, how does Tory deal with Silver cheating, do they bring in a new kid from one of the new CK locations to be their male champion if Robby leaves CK, etc.. If it's going past 5 seasons, I wouldn't be surprised if there's no tournament next season (just like Season 3).
I'm surprised that Johnny screaming "QUIET!" still makes me laugh.

He's shown a different side of him on this series. That is what I meant.
