And what about historical accuracy in yet another of my favorites?

Back to the Future Part II - Biff is making his getaway with the sports almanac, with Marty McFly pursuing on the Mattel Hoverboard. The date is November 5, 1955. Biff is playing the radio, which begins to rattle off scores from top 10 college football games played earlier that day. The radio announces that Texas A&M defeated Rice. I still remember the loud whoops in the Post Oak movie theater on opening day for that movie.

Only problem, Texas A&M was ranked just outside the top 10 on November 5, 1955, and they beat SMU 13-2. The Aggies cracked the top 10 after the victory over the Ponies, and then beat Rice on November 12, 1955 by a score of 20-12 at Rice Stadium.

Come on Hollywood, at least crack open some history books once in a while!

BTTF 2 was 1989. SMU death penalty was 1987. I wonder if that played into it at all.

How did all the flyers for hookers get into the vault in Oceans 11?

Swat team brought them down with them, then they take the real money back out with them
The van full of flyers (for hookers!) left the casino just before the arrival of the SWAT team. It's an admitted plot hole.

In any movie involving a chase, why do they continue to go in a straight line rather than turn left/right or make a u-turn?
Similarly, when two cars in a chase are side-by-side........why does no one ever think to brake? Seems an easy way to get away from whoever's chasing you.
It worked for Maverick....

Speaking of which, I have a friend who was a naval aviator (and flew in Top Gun) who said that if a pilot ever did a barrel roll off the flight deck like that, they'd just shoot him down and be done with it.

8. 4 Master Jedi couldn't take 1 Sith Lord? (SW: Ep. III)

He was a very powerful sith lord.

They underestimated him because he's old and they've probably never fought a sith lord before. Actually, have they fought any sith before? or even anyone with a lightsaber?

They were probably masters in the force and such (meditating, thinking, bullying non-force users). They probably weren't top notch fighters because all their fights have been easy up until then.

The real question is how powerful was anakin compared to Luke? Anakin was a force-virgin birth, trained by the jedi order for years. Luke was a halfling (padme wasn't a force user), trained a few hours on the falcon, then by yoda for a few weeks.

Anakin was one of the best swordmen in the order, prior to vader, he just lacked knowledge of the force.

Luke somehow beats him in a sword fight, even though it's his 2nd lightsaber duel EVER. Yoda never sparred with him, nor Obiwan.

any movie were people falling disregard the laws of physics when falling.

I can believe scenes like point break where brodie is sky diving laying flat using wind resistance to slow him down and Johnny Utah diving to get to him.

but many other movies (Spiderman with Toby, Batso man Forever) have two people falling vertically and one falls faster than the other.

What falls faster, a feather or rock?

A rock will fall faster unless in a vacuum because of wind resistance. A pound of feathers bound into a ball will fall at the same rate as a pound of rocks. Any movies with planes on treadmills?

Tombstone is one of my favorites of all time, but at the OK Corral, Doc shoots his double barrel shotgun 3 times in a row. I've tried to convince myself it is a cut scene and one of the shots is shown twice...I know I'm lying to myself.

Also, Curly Bill shoots his six gun 10 or 11 times in the scene where he kills Marshall White.

Right. So if you are spread eagle with your suit catching the wind why would you think someone with the head falling down wouldn't fall faster?

Those are some of the dumbest UIs, and why on Earth must they have those ticking, whizzing, churning sounds?

I can't think of many but Mr. Robot (sure not a movie) might be the only one to get it right.
Are you talking about that noise -- I don't even know how to describe it -- that happens when text appears on a computer screen? I HATE that!

The sound that always bother me the most is the click clack every time a gun is raised, as if a round is being chambered but the gun only moves. Annoying and

Sound that bothers me is in sword fights.
In reality, it would be like a CLANK or THUD when a sword or axe hits someone, but in movies it's always SHIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGGG
Watch this youtube video about the sound swords make when taken out of a scabbard or being sheathed.

Historical accuracy? What if time-traveling to the old west in Back to the Future III changed our history in unexpected ways, including SWC game scheduling in the 1950s.

Something else that also bugged me about Jenny in Forest Gump....

So Jenny died of AIDS right?

So, either she contracted the disease AFTER having Little Forest through continuing drugs and one night stands....OR Little Forest also has AIDS as well.......cause how long can someone have HIV untreated before it becomes AIDS?

Or worse yet, what if she had it for years, and gave it to Forest during their little sexy time and he and Little Forest are only several years away from suffering the same fate....

It's actually not common for a fetus to contract HIV from an infected woman as the placenta provides protection.

Chingachgook uses his finger to draw the outline of a Huron footprint, clearly leaving a mark, but then they refuse to bury the dead so they aren't tracked.

Regarding the double sided tape in Shawshank, he has to go in face first, and barely has enough room to go straight. There is NO way he could reach back and secure the Rita poster to fit tightly against the wall.

Not even the worst part of that movie. Red says, "Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of **** smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile."

500 yards is 1500 ft. Half mile is 2640 ft. Andy crawled just shy of 28.5% of a mile.
