And what about historical accuracy in yet another of my favorites?
Back to the Future Part II - Biff is making his getaway with the sports almanac, with Marty McFly pursuing on the Mattel Hoverboard. The date is November 5, 1955. Biff is playing the radio, which begins to rattle off scores from top 10 college football games played earlier that day. The radio announces that Texas A&M defeated Rice. I still remember the loud whoops in the Post Oak movie theater on opening day for that movie.
Only problem, Texas A&M was ranked just outside the top 10 on November 5, 1955, and they beat SMU 13-2. The Aggies cracked the top 10 after the victory over the Ponies, and then beat Rice on November 12, 1955 by a score of 20-12 at Rice Stadium.
Come on Hollywood, at least crack open some history books once in a while!
