Interesting. I was going by the critic reactions I was seeing on Twitter. Hadn't seen the score yet.

This early in the game 67% is not a good sign.

To be fair that's comparable with Solo at the same point, I think

I checked it just a little bit after TCTTS made his initial post, and it was at 79%. I didn't notice how many reviews were in at that point though.

Well, they said the same thing about JW, so I guess that the sequels are improving.

Let's be honest. That second long trailer was... not good. So this is not surprising.

But JP movies do not need a story. They just need dinos rampaging, ****ing things up, and eating the occasional person.

It may not make 1.5B this time, but it will do decent.

I liked JP III a helluva lot better than JP II because it didn't pretend to be anything other than a really expensive B movie with ILM effects.

If this one is in the same kind of mold, I'll enjoy it.

Where exactly did I say any of that non-sense? Please point that out to me.

Have you seen the movie yet? That's the only way you can possibly know the movie sucks or somehow does not measure up to whatever expectation you have for a movie featuring living dinosaurs that have escaped from some park and are now running loose eating people. Does anything in the bolded portion really elevate to the level of some Shakespearian drama, or some other high-minded story? If you cannot find entertainment in mindless, plotless flicks like any of the Jurassic Park movies, then why bother seeing any future movies in this series or even commenting on threads like this?

1) JP isn't mindless. It was a perfectly crafted sci fi movie wrapped in elements of horror and action adventure. It was a dinosaur movie...that was believable within the context of it's own established universe. Character motivations were established but MOST importantly...their actions simply made sense. (JW failed terribly at both)

2) This movie will assuredly be garbage. I don't need to see it, because I already have in the trailers. The highest form of compliment anyone is going to be able to give this film is 'it's mindless fun.' Sweet. The lowest bar of success is now enough to catapult it into a top 10 revenue generating film in history and we, as a collective audience, won't demand anything better so hollywood will continue to feed us these movies that value explosions over exposition.

About to buy tickets for Friday night
