Just got back, and I enjoyed the movie for the most part. Definitely deserves a better rating than it has.
I honestly think there's a great movie in there. Affleck, Eisenberg, and Gadot were all good. Love the direction they went with this new Lex. And I'm looking forward to WW's solo movie.
That said, the movie definitely has its problems, the biggest one being the editing. A lot of the movie felt disjointed to me. Like several shorts spliced together. It was hard following what the main storyline was, especially early in the movie.
Secondly, there was just too much going on in a very short time. This should've been two movies, imo. It was a lot to digest.
It was easy to miss important details and I found myself a bit lost at times. Did they explain what exactly Lex's motivation was? If so, can someone explain it to me? I'm still not clear on what his main goal was. Poor job of explaining that.
And did it need to be THIS dark? (And I mean that literally.) All the main action took place at night, and I wish there was more daytime stuff going on. It really needed some color. Even the daytime scenes were cloudy and dreary. (MoS looks colorful by comparison.)
Finally, I was pretty disappointed by the soundtrack. I LOVED the MoS soundtrack, and I wish it had kept that style/tone. This went way electronic, and I didn't love it.
Having said all that, I still found myself entertained pretty much the whole say way through, and I'm really liking where they're heading with the DCU. The problems with the movie were more "mechanical" than anything.
I'll probably be watching this one a second time to really be able to take it all in.
