Rotten tomatoes doesn't work as well for tv shows. Metacritic is much better.
quote:There's also a big difference between "hmm, reviews aren't great" vs "every critic says this is an absolute cluster of a film".quote:That's what I think is kind of funny. Most of us on here have voiced opinions in the past on some movie thread where we all disagreed with critics/each other. It literally happens on every single thread. That said, we all have said in the other thread that we feared this movie wouldn't be anywhere as good as we wish it would be and it probably won't. We know what we are probably getting and most us are still going to see it.quote:What exactly is the argument going on here? None of us have seen it yet.quote:When your argument reads just like a Donald Trump quote, that's basically when I stop reading.
Warner Knew Yes, once again, Warner knew. I like Warner, good company, very internal compared to some of the other studios. But they knew.
quote:That's not been the complaints against the film from what I have read. Like I mentioned in another thread, the complaints against the film are largely against the story being somewhat incoherent. Which has nothing to do with understanding the superhero genre. Deadpool, the X-Men films, and the other MCU films all tell a story in each movie that largely makes sense, campy-ness aside.quote:Definitely not using it as a barometer for good storytelling. Supergirl is godawful yet the critics like it for some reason. My point was just that the critics a lot of the time don't really understand the superhero genre. A lot of them still think the old campy movies are how they should be when the comics haven't been campy in more than 30 years.quote:I'm not sure I would use Supergirl as a barometer for good story telling...... If that is where you are going to go with that. IMO the acting talent in BvS also exceeds that on Supergirl, which I think Chyler Leigh is probably the diamond in the rough on the show.quote:I think a lot of it is that the critics don't really understand the intended audience. For an example:
Sure, "This movie is gonna suck, but it's all part of the plan!"
quote:So many bad decisions made by this group.

WB ****ting their pants apparently. ****ing great, now DC is ****ed again and a Justice League movie may not even happen. Goddammit.
I'm still going to see it because I've always liked Batman/Superman team ups and enjoy the Trinity, but man I hope fan word of mouth helps it out. I mean it's sitting at 33% at RT, that's worse than some truely horrifically bad movies. I don't know what's going on now.
quote:A lot of this was from some web post last week or the week before, about what would happen if the box office was bad.
As much as I'd like it to be true, there's no way that article is legit...
quote:ah, so is that also why they made what appears to be a not-very-enjoyable film?
No post-credit scene. They're trying to separate themselves from Marvel in that regard.
quote:would have been awesome.
Post-credits scene should've been Clark and Bruce fighting each other in Street Fighter.

In a dream though?

No it wasn't a dream. Yes, that was the Flash using the speed force warning Bruce about future events.
Also notice the suite in the Batcave with yellow spray paint saying, "haha...jokes on you Batman." That was Robin's suite when the joker killed him.
As a comic book fan, I really enjoyed the movie. However, it was too long. I really hope this doesn't break DC because I want to see a JLA movie.
