What is a 1% motorcycle club?

Some outlaw motorcycle clubs can be distinguished by a 1% patch worn on the colors. This is claimed to be a reference to a comment made by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in which they stated that 99% of motorcyclists were law-abiding citizens, implying that the last one percent were outlaws.

As a result, some outlaw motorcycle clubs used it to unite or express themselves and are commonly referred to as "one percenters". According to the ATF they are also known as Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs or OMGs.

I guess when the guy in the van took off his mask and was a gringo, I assumed it was some one other than the cartel guy that Clay met. Am I the only one who thought that? I thought that would be a simple "bam bam, thank ya ma'am" hit, not a multi person kidnapping attempt in a public place.

Also, why would they stop an have a picnic at a park so close to Charming? That seemed odd to me.

My guess about the kidnapping instead of a hit was to try and find out what information she knew and if she shared it with anyone else. The cartel is worried about her as well, hence the fact they would not call off the hit.

Clay was not hiring the Cartel to kill Tara. If you remember his conversation with Romeo they mentioned they were going to a third-party source for the hit. He used the cartels connections to find a hit-man, that was it. Now that the cartel gave Clay a refund, the hit is going to come from the cartel itself.

I agree it was strange to see who kidnapped her, especially after we saw the hired hitman in the park (is it really that easy to hit the highway and find someone?). We did not get to see the hitman's reaction to what happened so there is the chance it was a different group, or the guys were just hired by the hitman.

No...I was confused by that as well, but didn't focus on it that much after the show.

Now that y'all mention it, I am intrigued. Clay hires what is presumably a contract assassin, but they made a point to show the guys face in the van ( and it was not the guy Clay hired.) It will be interesting to see if this is significant or if we are "super-fanning" this...

it was strange. they showed the independent guy in the park. then showed the gringo in the van. either it was for a purpose, or gave them an option for the show that they eventually decided not to pursue.

The ending to that episode is such a cliffhanger!!!! After Clay and Gemma's fight what do you thinks going to happen? Is jax gonna kill Clay and then continue on with his plans to move away with Tara?? I am sure theres sooooo many more twists in this season!
Cant wait until the next episode!

I guess John McLain should have killed all the bad guys in the first 30 minutes of Die Hard. The next hour and a half we could have watched how they cleaned up the mess...helped everyone into the ambulances...hugged their loved ones....dismantled the FBI HQ....etc. That would make for a GREAT movie.

Or maybe Michael Corrleone could have killed all of the rivals and taken over the NY mob in the first 45 minutes of the show....that makes for great entertainment.

If Clay dies this season, then I'll come on here 30 minutes after the show and eat all the crow you guys can dish up. But I'm feeling pretty good about my chances.

It keeps getting mentioned because everyone knows it bugs you, Stive. You have to admit Clay's antics are compounding at an alarming rate. It's hard to see him escaping this season without some type of retribution.

What if him and Tig go off on their own, and team up with another group (Irish, Latin MC, etc...), and a permanent split form between the club following Clay and Jax?

If that's the case then keep firing away. I can take the teasing. If it's not the case...and people really think that...then it depresses/scares me to no end that folks are really that dense.

i had no idea it bugs you. but there is a climax coming with jax and clay. and after killing his old man, putting a hit on his old lady, and tuning up his mom, there is no other realistic conclusion other than jax kills clay. they aren't going to just duke it out and then have a beer. can't happen.

now the only way he survives is if he runs, and then next season will be jax hunting him down.

And you REALLY think this will happen this season? The producer has already stated that he wants the show to run another 3 seasons (not sure if you knew that). And with 3 seasons to go, they're going to take out the primary antagonist?

Remember....he doesn't know that he killed his father. He doesn't know that he ordered the hit on his wife. And his mother is a pathological liar who is as knee deep in the death of John Teller as Clay is. So despite her anger, and the walls closing around her current husband, you really think it's going to be as easy as Jax finding out all of this stuff in the next 3-4 episodes and killing/having Clay killed in the season finale?

If you're saying that now Jax will have to kill his stepdad by the end of the series (3-4 years from now), then I'm 100% with you. But if you think it's going to happen in the next few weeks, then I think you're missing the point of the show.

They divided the finale into two 1 hour episodes instead of the 90 minute one they originally thought it would be. Sutter said he was having trouble getting all of the finale into 90 minutes and needed the 120.

We'll see won't we.

I don't see Clay dying this season. I do see stuff happening though, they setup him up to take the fall with the Irish, he goes on the run, he partners with the Irish or Cartel, etc. They can't bring us to where we are and not follow through with club members finding out some details.

#1 there is about a 95% chance that anyone who uses the word methinks (or your me thinks ) is a d-bag.
#2 i dont know how good tv (SoA certainly qualifies as good) works, but plenty of GREAT tv shows have no problem killing off the main antagonist (the wire and breaking bad come to mind) mid way through a show's run.

that aside, i tend to agree with you that clay probably survives the season.

Clay is a goner either killed or has to leave. He's done too much damage. Remember what Gemma said at the end...

The hit men were called by Clay with a cell phone provided by Danny Trejo. They are not Hispanic but only spoke Spanish to point to Lobos Sonora.

It is a group of letters, written by John Teller (Jax's dad), describing his feelings towards the club, and how he saw Clay (and to an extent Gemma), turning on him. It apparently paints a clear picture of who murdered him (Clay).

Clay should at least get his hands smashed for what he did to Peg Bundy.
