This game has me checking out density maps for some countries.

For India guessing middle of the country is going to be bad most of the time. So for me unless I know it is coastal (like Mumbai or Serat) I'm going to the north from now on. Still a crapshoot with over 1000 mile width.

but that whole southern coast (Keralam region) is an unknown to me.

Man - pretty good except for a giant 900km miss in India. I even went in the north and was still off that far.

The other 4 were pretty identifiable locations geographically.

They have a States practice games for countries like India, Brazil, China. It helps to at least have a general feeling of which part of the country it's in since they include the state for locations in those countries.

yeah i've been doing the practice rounds too - pretty fun. the 25 second is tough and the pictures can be tough too.

there is a setting that makes you press and hold for like 2 seconds to register.

I kept getting misclicks with my trackpad early on.

Click on your username and then Settings - there are three options I'm using the Hold to Place one. Not sure if the others are an improvement or not.





Of course you want to turn it off for the timed speed practice round.


Found this for the different options:

  • Hold to Place: Press and hold on the map to drop a guess, with a default hold duration of 0.5 seconds.
  • Hold Time: Adjusts how long you must press the screen before your guess is officially placed (default is 0.5s).
  • Tap Sensitivity: Controls touch detection; lower it if you experience accidental taps, or raise it if taps fail to register.
  • Pause After Moving: Ignores taps for a set duration (default 0.5s) right after you drag the globe.
  • Pause After Zooming: Ignores taps for a set duration (default 0.5s) right after you pinch-zoom.
  • Tap Assist: Lets you hold briefly to tap.
  • Confirm Tap Mode: An alternative placement method requiring confirmation before finalizing a pin, with recent updates introducing "tap and hold to place pin" as a preferred option.

I started using the confirm to tap mode, after having it count a click and drag as a click and hold. It automatically turns it off for the time based games too. Does get slightly tedious when trying to quickly go through a longer practice list
