Mary takes the set, 6-2, and the match.

She played well. Her shots were dropping in, several times really close. Only sailed a couple today. Serving about average for her. Her opponent did not have a great game - not to take away from Mary because she did great.

The computer rankings for tennis just aren't accurate.

I don't mind it. I felt that #13 seeding last year helped fire up our team and play loose throughout the NCAA tourney run.

stanford is #12 in the computer rankings. I think they're about 12-16 range right now. Their body of work is unimpressive thus far and the only way they win a competitive match right now is doubles, 1,2 & 4. If they don't get all of those matches they have a 10% chance of winning the team match.

you're right. i clicked the rankings on the website for the 12th.(previous rankings). I still think that stanford in that range, however you still look at their body of work and their best win is against Ole miss. The conouter rankings oh look at your best wins and right now stanford doesn't have a good one.

Looking more into the ranking points. Only 4 points separate #3 (UNC) from #6 (us). That's a very thin margin. The goal remains the same, just win.

The sips played at TCU's indoor courts tonight. Eszter Meri lost on Court #2, 2 and 2. Herrera won the tiebreaker for the third set, 10-5.

W50 Spring, TX has postponed all matches for today. Tomorrow it is going to be just as cold and it will rain, but they haven't cancelled that yet.
