If you want to go a little deeper on the teams we will be competing with, I enjoyed listening to these podcasts.





Next will be a podcast dedicated to covering the two favorites - A&M and Georgia.

I don't agree with all the takes, but do agree that adding Hovde to Duke makes them a legit contender. Stanford is dealing with injuries / transfers and likely won't be as good as everyone initially though (including me).

Texas is crazy young but talented and they are also high on Oklahoma State.

Agree. And still can't figure out why we seem to have the best situation in the nation for a high level transfer but haven't been able to close it. Kylie would have slotted into #5 and been very strong.

At this point you have to assume that Mark believes we have enough for a chance or he has something up his sleeve. I'm going to go with the first thought since there are no rumblings of anyone else joining the team.

I hope that isn't the case as I just wouldn't understand the logic. We clearly wanted Liv. At a minimum you want extra depth.

All three of corndog's signees are currently playing 1-2-3 against USD. Kayla Cross loses 6-4, 6-3 to ITA #31 Kailey Evans on Court 2.

Let's see if Hovde plays in an hour. Hovde is not listed. They're really missing a chance to see Liv Hovde vs Liam Oved. Or her play against Vivian Yang ( Liv-v-Vivian). And even without her Eleana Yu is playing court 3 for duke.

LSU will be strong at #4(kind of like how Jayci was for us a few years ago). But to have 3 freshman at the top of the lineup is bold. If LSU loses 1/2 they aren't going to upset a team. They will pack the depth at 5&6 as well as 3 being pretty volatile. their 1&2 can compete with anyone, i just don't think they are going to be able to do it consistent enough to carry that team to incredible heights. although they're a top 6 sec team (on paper at least)

I always wondered why Georgia never played Mert when we played them last year. She played virtually every other dual match at 5 but when we played them they submitted her there then pulled her. my guess was it had to be a matchup thing where they liked that for them. (it worked, up until the very end)

Also… USC just beat texas 4-1 (when clinched)! Texas' lineup went Zeynalova, Meri, Bowers, Herea, Pursoo, Ovrootsky(sole point).

USC put out: Piper, Charney, Fairclough, Haddad, Hossam, Sung.

I won't do transitive wins, because that really doesn't work especially in a sport like tennis, but Lulu beat both of USC's top 2. Nicole beat Charney. Jeanette beat Fairclough. Mia beat Haddad. Are girls might be even better than we think

Texas might be a team that gets hot towards the end of the season, but that's the opening weekend of sec play not the end

favorite part of this article is the mention of the 55 match winning streak! What I don't like is how they don't refer to them as the 2024 national champions, only as the number 2 Aggies

Mary has played in pro tournaments the last two weeks and will play again in one next week. That is not uncommon for the best players in the country.

REMINDER: Mary did not play in the first dual match last year, and that season ended up just fine in May.

I'm not surprised to see Daria ahead of Jeanette but am a bit surprised to see Lexington playing ahead of Jeanette. Bottom of the lineup is critical for SEC / NCAA title aspirations.
