Texas NIL laws made her go out of state
This one hurts. Her commitment had natty repeat written all over it.

Apparently US and OSU had higher NIL offers than Duke, but Duke was able to put it in writing like she had needed. She's a one year rental
After being enrolled in classes this semester & planning on making her college tennis debut in the spring, Maya Joint (UTR 12.02) has decided to turn pro & will not compete for @TexasWTN.

The 18yo has a WTA singles ranking of #116 & is competing in #AusOpen main draw next month. pic.twitter.com/FlOF6zsRgW
Agree it is the wise choice for her. She's playing top 100 level already. A semester of college doesn't help her.Anchorhold said:After being enrolled in classes this semester & planning on making her college tennis debut in the spring, Maya Joint (UTR 12.02) has decided to turn pro & will not compete for @TexasWTN.

Wise choice for her.
Is it time to start predicting lineups and finishes for the SEC?

Texas will still be very good, but this is obviously a huge blow to them. On paper, it's still Georgia, A&M and Texas at the top of the SEC, but Texas at the bottom of that instead of the top. Stanford is a legit NCAA title contender.
We can beat anyone, but just like last year before Carson, we are one player short of being the best on paper.
It will be interesting to watch #5/#6. Daria, Lexington, Jeanette, and possibly Jennifer? Jeanette has the experience edge, clearly.
Can't wait for another great season!

Jennifer is coming in the fall

Joffe replaces Maya Joint with Salma Drugdova (UTR 10.57) of Slovakia. Immediately makes them better. Does Mark have anything left up his sleeve?

We've seen Daria pick up some big wins over the fall. I'm assuming she will factor into the lineup and if that's the case, along with Jennifer and Lexington, perhaps he feels we are set?

OTHER RUMORS.... because the offseason is too long
-Hearing Yepifanova is out for the year at Stanford due to injury. Add that to Eleana Yu transferring to Duke and their depth is looking shakey. India Houghton graduated over the summer and did not compete for Tree in the fall, but is still listed on the roster as a grad student.
-Lopata had a hard cast on her arm during Fed cup competition in McKinney in November. Whatever it is will probably be heeled completely by the time they come to town in April.
-Its almost been a year since Brantmeier's knee injury. I haven't heard anything on the progress, but UNC starts ACC conference play before ITA Kickoff weekend, so we shouldn't have to wait too much longer.
