This is looking like a turning point for Buzz and his staff at A&M, I can see a lot of momentum and support coming to this team very soon. Best bball team we've had in a long time, and one of the best teams of the 3 major boys sports we've had in awhile as well.

I'm impressed by the depth of this team. Didn't have any problems with Wade Taylor having issues in the first half. Rest of the team just stepped up.

It turned like 3 years ago. He's won 27, 25 and 21 games in the 3 years leading up to this year.

Last year was a good year, they've had some good teams. But this is looking a little different. This team looks like it could possibly compete with anyone. I would not have said that in years past. They did have some huge wins, but I didn't think they had a chance to ever go elite 8. This team looks like it belongs in the sweet 16 and def has a chance to make a deep run if they peak at the right time.

But we'll see how SEC play goes.

I agree, this looks like his best team but we've been good for a while.

I think that next year's team will be a real test for the long term trajectory of the program. If they can build a competitive roster after all of the loses, I will believe that the team will be consistently good.

I have always wanted to ask a coach " when are you going to have an old team" as
you hear a lot " we are young". Buzz has the most mature and experienced team he may ever have,
and the team is very deep!

Yes, I have arrived and am here to stay until the fans ultimately run me out for not winning a natty.

so, the team has been consistently good for the past four years, and is good this year, but you want to wait until next year to decide?

Good lord. We beat a ****ty tu team.

The schedule for conference this year and more importantly the postseason will determine what Buzz is.

Yes, because for the last four years we have had arguably our best player ever. Also, I think to call the teams consistently good over the last four years is revisionist at best. I think with the xfer rules these days, the ability for a program to attract good talent is dependent on a much shorter timeline of success. I think if we suck next year, we'll see a big hit to the level of guy who wants to come here.

I dont expect us to compete for championships every single year but being on a cycle of the stars aligning every 4 or 5 years doesn't feel like a good program.

Should we extend his contract for 10 years with a huge buyout?

It's kind of a tradition around here.

We've finally got multiple 6'5" to 6'8" defenders who can effectively run his defense (switch) - even on the bench. If your bench defense is Garcia, Hefner, Payne - that's pretty elite.

Let's see how he finishes this year. The SEC seems like it's going to be brutal. He has steadily improved year over year besides 20. However, reality is we're paying top 15 money and haven't been to a sweet 16 yet in his tenure.

I think Buzz has a contract thru 2028.
I like the character of the guys Buzz recruits.
I like guys like Q, Boots, Dexter Dennis
The current team seems to have a lot of unity and chemistry

Re Buzz "arrival" he has finished one 5 yr cycle. Seems like progress....

Covid year
Lost NIT on a buzzer beater
Lost first round NCAA to State Penn in first round
Lost in OT to Coogs after beating Huskers in first round
Seems poised this year for a high seed NCAA bid
I think Sweet 16 should be a minimum for our current team

Will be a lot of new faces next year. Hope Solo, Payne and McDermott stay here!

My only comment would be "sweet 16 at a minimum" for any team; not just an A&M team is a tough standard. I think better would be a top 4 seed. That's S16 chalk and means we've had a great season. Run into a hot shooting bottom seed and wham. S happens. The season trend is what's an indicator of a good team/program.

This is the first year where we seen to have a full roster that could make it past the first weekend. Previously, everything had to be perfect for us to have that chance. This year feels different and much more of a complete team.

This kind of mentality is just the wrong way to look at it. We are 1-0 in conference.

Buzz has really been excellent in the SEC for 3 years now compared to our talent level. We are a really good team. Let's go beat Kentucky, Arky and Tennessee and see what happens

What? So even when we are good the Aggie mantra is always next year.

If your goal is a NC, a high seed usually helps.....but you have to win 6 games to win it all.
People will remember if we ever get to the Elite 8 or better. Not so much with say a 4 seed
then lose the first game.

Nice seasons and nice SEC tournaments are great, but what people really remember is what you do in the Big Dance!

Not sure we have another #4 on the roster. Hopefully Buzz and staff can
come close to replicating Wade and bring that guy in from the portal!!

He needs to go .500 against all the ranked SEC opponent's during the regular season.

I could see Buzz riding into the sunset after this team graduates.

He does not need the money and has a higher calling it seems then just coaching basketball.

I hope I am wrong.

I think what he's saying is he wants to make sure buzz can continue to build good teams once all the pieces from the last few seasons are gone

It's a fair point, but I'm one who is not concerned about that as I think buzz has it figured out now how to build a team in the portal era.

I di, however, expect U.K. Rand a step ba k next season as we lose rzir, Coleman. Garcia and most of the main pieces of this years team

There's a lot of production to replace so if we miss the dance next season it will be understandable, at least to me

There is nothing elite about Hefner. He shouldn't be on this team let alone getting minutes.
