Disclaimer - all my comments on matches are from an amateur's point of view !!

Match even at 3-3. Both players making some great shots. Sixth game saw both players at Ad about three times each but Cross took it, darn it.

Cross takes a 4-3 lead. Lex is playing her even which, in my humble opinion, is a very good sign for her game.

Lex evens it at 4-4. Cross only one point in the 8th game.

Lex's 2nd serve is the biggest glaring weakness that I see in her game. Players at the top will tee up on that way too often. Her ground strokes are nothing but top class. I would prefer for her to move better but that will also come with training and weight transfer footwork as she develops.

Cross up 6-5.

Lex is a WC playing a 4 seed evenly. I like it. With all the experience she will pick up next Spring she'll get a lot better.

I do not think Lex has won a single game that went to deuce. Darn it.

Cross wins another game that went to deuce. And the set, 7-5.

Darn it, darn it, darn it.

A bit into the future, looking forward to Lex and Jennifer on the same team.

Cross is a very good player. Good to see Lexington hang tough with her. She definitely seems to raise her game against better players.

Cross is not playing as well and Lex is playing better.

Again, Lex is a WC and Cross is a 4 seed - remarkable turn of events.

Lex did not score a point in the first game of the third set, Cross takes a 1-0 lead.

C'mon, Lex, you can do it !!!

Cross up 3-0. I think she told herself, "time to stop messing around and put this kid away!"

Darn it. But still think Lex is having a very good match against a more experienced player!

Cross up 4-0.

Cross up 5-1.

Cross takes third set, 6-1, and the match.

Amateur opinion time. Up and down match. Lots of great shots. A big 'what if' game for Aggies. But Lex played her well and she is a great addition to our lineup! Sure am looking forward to the Spring!

Thanks to anchorhold for telling us about this tournament. Gosh, I thought we were done until Hawaii in early January!

Final qualifying round of the 2024 LPGA Q-Series Dec. 5-9

Adela Cernousek to play in the tournament, trying to earn her tour card. Practice rounds Dec 2-4, tournament rounds 5-9, with Dec 10 as a rain day.

Magnolia Grove Golf Club (Crossings and Falls courses); Mobile, AL

Format:

90 holes of stroke-play competition; cut after round four; competitors will play two rounds each on the Falls
and Crossings courses; round five will be played on the Crossings course.

$150,000 Purse; Purse distribution to be paid to all players making the cut after round four. Please note
that the payment earned by a player cannot be declined or forfeited.

The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

Players may carry their own bag, use a pull cart or employ a caddie.

Caddies may carry the bag or use a pull cart; No electric carts will be used for the event.

Top 25 and ties will earn 2025 LPGA Tour status in Category 14.

All Players finishing a minimum of four (4) rounds will earn 2025 Epson Tour status in Category C.

Darn, I worded my statement wrong. Lex is still alive in doubles in this tournament and they played very well their first match. I was only thinking this might be the last tournament until next January.

Jeanette is playing a PTT tournament in Newport next week. Video should be on Amazon Prime. Also playing are two girls named Ellie that have signed with smu.

Anyone know exactly what renovations they are doing? I had heard of the stalled indoor agreement with Bryan, but not this.

it's away team locker rooms and athletic training rooms on the far side of Mitchell. It's basically that whole half downstairs that is being renovated.

They're moving some offices and locker rooms around also

For those in the know, what is the status with Liv or was that just a rumor?

That rumor can't be serious until the Brantmeier case is settled; and that will probably keep getting pushed back until congress comes up with a viable plan.

*Definitely not in-the-know, just my speculation.
