I didn't even get to see the champagne. After cutting to commercial during the national anthem, when they came back it was the trophy ceremony, just long enough to see Checo get his then they ended coverage for good.

Nice win for Max. He keeps pulling ahead. Crazy that the fastest lap point that Bottas got back was what kept the constructors lead.

I was having this discussion with my wife this afternoon. Does Hamilton's chance at number 8 go down greatly after this season if he doesn't pull it out this year? Does that put more stress on him trying to win this year?

2022 onwards is a big unknown at this point because of the massive technical regulation changes. Historically when there have been major changes 1 or 2 teams end up with a big advantage over the others.

Rookie question here. Why don't they retire any of the bottom cars early to clear traffic? How often do lapped cars ultimately effect the top five finish?

Hell it's been basically a parade for most of the turbo hybrid era and you want less cars on the track during the race?

If Toto wanted to stop this he would've had both his drivers go hard to the left side of the track and create a wall for Max...make him go all the way cross track to the right through traffic to get to the inside. I thought it was an epic fail to not implement that strategy straight up. Who cares of Sergio gets through on the inside...you're not racing him for the drivers championship.

Exactly. Once Max got alongside him they had no choice but to let him have a line. They should have never let him there in the first place.

Just FYI - there were a lot of freight issues that caused delays in setup. Apparently, Haas was hit the hardest and until all of their stuff comes in, no other team can proceed. There are going to be a lot of people working nonstop tonight (assuming everything finally arrived).

Also, seeing smoke about Otmar going to Alpine next season. Interesting...
