Everything I've seen has claimed the opposite - it would have been nearly impossible to race on Monday. And it seems that none of the teams were advocating for this option anyways.
Probably need a rule change noting in the event the race cannot be held due to weather the points will be awarded based on qualifying. It would be incredibly rare, but everyone would know what to expect

Yes, they got him fixed and he started from pit lane in last place. So it didn't matter that they fixed the car.

A few years ago it was a muddy disaster.
But at least they raced.
In doing more research, the reason they couldn't race on Monday, is because the marshals are volunteers who had to work today. Every other major racing series has hired traveling marshals and safety personnel which allow the races to be held.
Maybe this is something the FIA considers to prevent this from happening again. Also with how focused they are on safety, sort of blows my mind they'd leave the firefighting and car retrieval to literal amateurs.

Turkey is the week before and the US is two weeks after. Seems like they'd be able to re-schedule.

Hope so. He seems too eager to please to me. Maybe I have the wrong impression of him.
He has 3 seasons now. I don't think he will move aside for Hamilton at all on track. I do see him not making waves off track and being more cordial. Russell and Williams are easily my second favorite team/driver combo. Will be hard to root for Merc but I'll always root for George.
