I honestly think Mick would further his development faster in GP2 than in those pigs Haas is putting on the grid.

It seems like the feeling was that RB would have matched any change in strategy by Merc, so there would have been no benefit. RB also would have matched with new tires, which Merc didn't have for Lewis.'03ag said:
Can someone explain why Mercedes didn't try to two-stop Hamilton? Seems like there was nothing to lose.
Because of the lead Max had, even if he stopped after Ham he would have still come out ahead AND had newer tires... so the 2-stop wouldn't have helped Mercedes.'03ag said:

That was for the C2-C3-C4 tires...boy09 said:
I saw this graphic before the race yesterday. Seems like if this week could still be a one-stopper for some.
I don't recall for sure - but if you think about it F1 has to do something so we don't have the exact same race two weeks in a row. And it doesn't look like this track is set up to provide multiple layouts like some are.Gladiator 96 said:
Did Pirelli split tire compound mixes at Austria during the doubleheader last year as well?

The team's fuel and lubricants supplier ExxonMobil delivered a revolutionary new oil at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that has helped push the team forwards.
The new Mobil 1 oil is particularly intriguing because ExxonMobil made a big push in evaluating chemicals not traditionally used in engine products to help deliver the step.
The end result is an oil that features components normally used in the cosmetics industry, but are now being utilised to help improve the oil's protective film that it leaves on metal parts. This saves the engine from damage caused by extreme heat and wear.
In such a competitive world as F1, ExxonMobil won't reveal exactly what specific chemicals it has used, but says they were key to the progress it has made with its product.

"These new components were incorporated as they were found to offer many benefits, including stronger interactions with metal surfaces and lower friction, helping deliver maximum power while offering protection and fuel efficiency.
"These benefits also translate into an ability to run the engine across a wider range of operating conditions."
Its been years since I went but Silverstone is a great experience and pretty walkable in a normal year. Our seats were halfway up the grandstand at Stowe's Corner. There was a large video screen and it was totally worth it to rent/buy the radio that gives you access to race commentary. You really can't hear anything. To that note, invest in some good ear protection.jorgerr96 said:
Has anyone been to Silverstone? Considering as I have a credit for F1 Experiences that expires at the end of the year. Canada doesn't look too enticing anymore as they removed a few things from the packages.
Did they fix the traffic issue? That's always been the downside to Silverstone.nai06 said:Its been years since I went but Silverstone is a great experience and pretty walkable in a normal year. We didn't try to park there either but took a chartered tour bus to the site from where we were staying in Birmingham. Its really not near much either so lodging was hard to come by. I think the closest place is Northampton.
Either way it was an awesome experience.
Two more years. 👊
