What if you made your assessment after last season?
Then you don't have anything to contribute to the discussion because you've already made up your mind.

Ding, ding, ding, Instead of Trump derangement syndrome it is Earley derangement syndrome.
Brilliant my consigliere.

I have, for years, felt like you both are the two most respectable posters on this board and I'm sorry you feel this way about my posts.
I have not started a single thread about it, I decided last week to stay off the game threads about it, I have never once name called or made character comments - about the cosching staff or fellow posters, I didnt make a single comment during or after last nights game....but if the topic comes up I will continue to speak my mind on the same message board that I've participated on for the last 25 years.
Can I be snarky sometimes? Yes, and I will continue to work on that, but I don't believe there is anything I have said that cannot be back up with facts.
I didn't agree with the original hire but I understood the situation we were in and was OK with it as an experiment to see if the talent could overcome inexperience in leadership. It was a disaster experiment and I was even more disappointed that a move wasnt made last season. I will NEVER root for our baseball team to fail and have said numerous times that I hope we end up building the man a statue but I will not walk around with unsubstantiated blind hope that we have the right guy in charge. I hope I can eat the biggest plate of crow but I just haven't seen anything on the field to lead me to believe we have more than what we have seen thus far.
We all love this sport, this school, and this team and can be passionate about it.
Here is to our boys finishing the sweep this weekend!

AgRyan04 and Dermdoc,
Thank you for showing how a disagreement can be handled with respect and maturity. If all posters on Texags would take your examples this would be a much better place.
I am reading both your points of view and giving consideration to them.

I get the point you're trying to make, but it's a bad comparison.
See, the Titanic TRYING to miss the iceberg (not "worrying once we hit it") led to a long, glancing blow which flooded enough compartments for it to sink.
Ironically, had they NOT "worried about it til they hit it", they'd have struck it head on. The front end would've been damaged badly, but it wouldn't have sunk.

You know we won right
Like I get tonight was frustrating but it was a quad 2 win
Can we stow the pitchforks until we actually lose

I'm not ready to say Earley is going to be a highly successful coach but I don't get this push to fire him at this point of the season. Last year was a disaster without a doubt but the team this year is clearly better so far.
We haven't lost any games against inferior teams unlike last year where we lost a lot of those. Our 5 total losses are to teams ranked last week ranked 1, 7 and 8. We have an RPI of 17 and are ranked in the top 25 and will likely get to around 20 after this weekend. If he had done this last year through 27 games, I think the view of him would be a lot different.

Some people just want to fire Earley after last year. Unfortunate for them because they'll probably have trouble enjoying anything good that happens to this team.
Their loss.

But he didn't, so it's not

So are you saying we should fire someone a year later as opposed to what he is doing this year? I am willing to give it time to see how this season goes. I certainly don't believe in firing coaches whose teams are getting better year-over-year. In this case, we are a lot better than last year as of now.
