The leverage he had was making $1M a year at tu or close to it and having pretty damn good job security for multiple years there, along with our entire super roster for the 25 season imploding had we gone with someone else. And remember it was super late in the process.

Let's not act like he didn't have leverage. I was OK trying the hire out for a year. Not OK with keeping him after last year. I'm not super insanely pissed about it because they'll do it this year unless they finish well.

This. The last time an A&M baseball coach not in his first year missed the tournament and retained his job was Mark Johnson in 2002. Earley does not have goodwill banked to survive that.

If we miss the tournament and don't make a change, then Trev is effectively telling the donors who stepped up to fund the player facilities, "Thanks…suckers! We are not really serious about competing in this sport."

If we host a regional, Earley will be back, no debate.

It's the in between that is worrisome.

Has anyone checked to see if Trev was in a coma during the Mizzou series last year? If THAT didn't convince him we needed a change, I don't have much hope that missing the tournament this year would. Not sure what it would take honestly.

We aren't firing him the second series in conference after two consecutive top 10 tens… if we win the series we are back to 500… man y'all are about of negative Nancy's! Yesterday was truly the worst ball we have played.. we will be fine!

We could lose every remaining game on our schedule and folks on here would still be begging to give Earley another chance next year.

I was at the game, I do not recall a single hit where a Georgia hitter reached base due to putting a ball in play opposite of the shift. If you can point out a couple of "the few" I'll admit to being wrong.

My man. The very FIRST hit of the game for Georgia went right thru the third base slot while we shifted to the right side.

There's another important hit later right at the "shortstop", but no shortstop is there because he's in right field.

After the number of times Oklahoma burned our shift you'd hope we'd learn a little.

That's a BS excuse as old as the internet. Nothing said or posted online does any damage or any more damage than the load of s*** we are putting on the field, period.

The hire of Earley was understandable, retaining him for this season was also understandable, but Trev is not doing his job if he is not already vetting candidates and putting out feelers for interest. And I believe he will be by the middle of April when it is 1000% clear we will not make the field of 64.

I think a 1-5 start in SEC play after last season is enough with this experiment
