Exactly. If this was 2006 then we would have reason to worry. It is 2024. We are organized, well funded, and have everything in place to be a consistent elite program. At the same time tu is still tu but not nearly as attractive as they used to be. Not sure what their pitch is to Schloss other than the past.

I think the odds of it being Schloss are significantly lower than every longhorn fan thinks, but I don't think they are zero. We got Schloss to come due to deteriorating relationships in the TCU AD (as well as his personal life). I have no idea what his relationships are like with Trev or others in our AD.

The move now gives me more confidence it's not Schloss. Schloss knows tonight is the biggest game of his coaching career so far and if he had told CDC he's coming, I doubt he would want to see that kind of smoke today. More than likely, CDC has been courting the next coach in the background and finally came to an agreement over the weekend.
