We need at least 1 more serviceable catcher. I was hoping max would stay because I'm not sure he's marginally worse than the USC kid. He had to sit behind an elite college catcher this year. Frankly, he should have been given more opportunities during the year. Appel was banged up in the postseason because he caught every day.

Keeping Henseler is huge. Our lineup will be absolutely stacked this Spring.

On the one hand, Earley's first roster is going to be loaded; an absolute embarrassment of riches. On the other hand, he's gonna have some very tough decisions to make with respect to all these sticks. Pretty crazy that someone like Galloway or Kent might be at 2nd leadoff 9 hole.

Good problem to have, but that's the Earley challenge for the new head man.

Is pitching going to be a problem? Sure, all these big time hitters coming back but what about the bull pen if Cortez, Ashenbeck, and Prager are all gone?

The sorry SOB at that other place took like 3 pitching commits yesterday from A&M.

You don't think we will hit the portal for pitchers? Good grief. These aren't even portal guys really. Wait till we start making a run at portal guys.

Those commits aren't for this upcoming season, and staff has indicated they are about to hit the pitching portal very hard now that we have all the big pieces locked back in.

Keep in mind that our players have another 2+ weeks to enter the portal if they want. Earley has said priority #1 was our returning starters from the portal. I'm sure there's a few big portal fish (Henseler, Galloway, pitchers), and I'd be shocked if he isn't meeting with the existing roster (non-starters) to let them know what his expectations are.

I'd honestly be surprised if we don't have a few people move on, but I'm not basing that on any knowledge, just more of a "there's usually change with a leadership transition. "
