Right? Becky has coached men and Staley can flat out coach. Looking to make a splash, why not? Must see tv for November and December games.Bunk Moreland said:slatermikan said:

We need to hire someone soon so they can hire decent assistants before it's too late. We saw with Kennedy that the assistants can be more important than the coach.

Suggestion: don't let the university president hire head coaches.

There's always the possibility of a Jimbo type - one that's won a national championship several years back that the game has passed by. Who would that be?
How much did we offer Vitello?Bunk Moreland said:AtticusMatlock said:
Trev also had Earley pushed on him by the players and boosters to keep the roster intact. He wasn't able to do an actual coaching search.
That's one problem we have at A&M that no one wants to talk about. The booster pressure to hire specific people is intense. Basketball boosters are undoubtedly in his ear about who he needs to hire and if it doesn't work out he will get blamed and those same boosters will pressure the next hire, too.
We offered Vitello big $$ and reached out to Vaughn at the time. After that when Trev moved on to round 2, the donor commitment to NIL push to keep the roster intact made sense to go with Earley and see if it worked out. No issues at all with that process.
Again, the issue will be if we don't immediately move on this year.

It's the NIL era. We're going to have to pay anyway.JJxvi said:
We're not getting Beard for 5 mil per. We likely would have to pay him something like a top 5 salary. $6.5+

Welch was the last act of vandalism by Sharp as he headed out the door. A DEI loving bureaucrat in a military costume to fool a gullible, trusting alumni base.KCup17 said:
I really doubt Welch approves Beard if we get that far.
