That's one problem we have at A&M that no one wants to talk about. The booster pressure to hire specific people is intense. Basketball boosters are undoubtedly in his ear about who he needs to hire and if it doesn't work out he will get blamed and those same boosters will pressure the next hire, too.

We offered Vitello big $$ and reached out to Vaughn at the time. After that when Trev moved on to round 2, the donor commitment to NIL push to keep the roster intact made sense to go with Earley and see if it worked out. No issues at all with that process.

Again, the issue will be if we don't immediately move on this year.

As much or slightly more than he ended up re-signing at UT for. It was a pipe dream but we took a shot. The optics would have been brutal for him coming off the natty but he had local ties to this region and we at least made him consider it.

Our problem, is that the AD isn't anywhere near the top. He's a puppet.
We've got a lot of big money greats, and a lot of big money idiots, and it seems they all feel like they need to drive the boat. And they all think they know more about being an AD than any of the AD's we've actually hired (which is a little weird).

And THAT's the F'n problem
