2023 rangers vs DBacks
2026 brewers vs rays

Which one would be more of a ratings nightmare

All Chicago fans would hate watch a Brewers WS.
If they just put the Rays on in all the senior citizen communities in Florida, you'd have 20 million out of the state's 23 million watching.

The more this drags on the more I think it's one of two options. Option one is that his contract runs out soon and they are just letting it run its course so they can say it was a mutual decision. Or he will be back next year
All I do is Nguyen

As far as I know his contract simply lapses so they will probably do that
No matter what!

I'm pretty sure his contract ran out the day they lost game 2.

If that's the case, what would be the official ruling on the bingo square - " Joe Espada is still the Astros' manager a week after the World Series ends"

I think we all know somebody who would know the answer, or could phone a friend and find out...

I wondered about this as well when I was filling out my squares...wasn't there official word from ownership/leadership that his contract wasn't going to be re-upped after the season like two or three weeks before the regular season was done?

Most expiring contracts end the day the season ends. But when I made it a Bingo square, I was talking about the Astros announcing he's not returning as manager.

Frankly, the longer it goes without an official announcement, the more terrified I am that they're going to bring him back. Because otherwise, wouldn't you announce he was gone to start cultivating interest from the best possible replacements?

He's the commissioner of the league. Like Robbie, he doesnt have to be right, he just has to be in charge.

Being right is a bonus. Or luck.

New GM would want to pick the manager, no?

Guys, you don't have to put out a press release to start "cultivating interest"… that's not how any of this works. There's not an agent or manager candidate that would first find out about an opening from a press release.

Item 1 on the docket is GM, anyway.

It's cute that you think Crane and Bagwell are going to hire a GM that makes choices not given to him by Crane and Bagwell.

We literally won a WS because of Yu tipping and we knew it. He gifted us game 3 and game 7.

And sometimes tipping makes no difference. Witness LMJ in the 2017 ALCS. Everyone in the building knew that CB was coming. I bet McCann was laughing and telling the batters "here it comes again good luck".

I feel like the batters were playing the odds at a certain point there too. Like "he's thrown 10 straight, there's no way he throws another… I bet I'm getting a heater here"

It was wild

LMJ in 2022 was tipping. Gave up 5 HRs in one game to the Phillies because his leg kick was tipping off FB or breaking pitch.

Thought it came out later that in that 21 ALCS that Boston was absolutely skull dragging us that we identified the pitchers were tipping and once we fixed it that series turned.

They all kinda run together #GoldemEraProblems

My guess on why there's been no announcement concerning Joe Espada is that if in fact his contract expires at the conclusion of the World Series, the announcement will come. Also if Crane has already decided not to bring Joe back then perhaps he's got his eyes on a current manager and/or bench coach that is currently in the playoffs. But who knows, maybe I'm giving Crane too much credit in doing that.

Not sure about 2021, but I think there was pretty convincing video evidence that LMJ was tipping with his glove height and/or leg kick against the Phillies in 2022, despite his denying it after the game.

Who would you rather have as the Astros manager - Joe Espada or Chandler Rome?
