Teddy Perkins, txags92, and wessimo are the first 3 posters to 7 squares in Astros' Bingo, thanks to their undying loyalty to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.

How'd I end up at 7? Thought I had max 6 available when I looked earlier.

Who can still win Astros Post-Season Bingo?
Familiar names include '26 regular-season champ and faceless computer intelligence coming for us all.

Who can get to 9 squares?
Only wessimo. He has 7, and has the Dodgers winning the World Series and Espada not getting let go when the World Series ends

Who can get to 8 squares?
Wessimo obviously, along with:
Teddy Perkins: At 7, gets to 8 if Indians reach the ALCS
Claude AI: At 7, gets to 8 if Brewers win the World Series (also just convinced your boss that you were redundant at your job, please have your desk cleaned out by 5)

The tie-breakers at 8:
Claude > Teddy
Teddy > wessimo
Claude > wessimo

Who will win in a multi-user tie at 7?
texags92, BCEDAg, CFTXAG10, and JB12 all also have 7. If no one gets past 7 total, then BCEDAg and CFTXAG10 will tie for first with the lowest hit total tie-breaker (17) and the exact same Aggie/Texan win total tie-breaker (4).

They continue to amaze with their stupidity. Either they know who they want and have an informal agreement already, or they're wasting precious time and will be further behind everyone else. The last time we had a work stoppage, there was a flurry of signing before the deadline.

If the clubs are planning to lock out and shut down after the WS until the new CBA, is there any benefit to having a new GM and Manager signed under contract so that they can twiddle their thumbs for a year looking at baseball cards?

I'd want them to have their new scouting team in place and hit Latin America hard.

You assume they are going to sign an actual GM who has the authority and autonomy to be an actual GM.

I'm under no such illusion.

I'm hopeful we are holding out for a GM from the Tampa, Milwaukee, or LA front offices and Linares for head coach. But I realize Crane isn't about the analytics side of the game and is gonna full blown old school back of the baseball card types.

The GM intro is going to be like when Harvey Dent holds the press conference to announce they've arrested Batman, and then reveals that he is Batman. GM Crane, special advisor Bagwell, and manager Brad Ausmus. Hello 75-87 until the end of time.

Jim and Jeff can sign whoever they want without a GM

Abreu deserves it more than Montero ever did but wouldn't be surprised if that is a priority for them for some idiotic reason.

None of us do. Why would we based on how this has unfolded over the last few years?

And the most frustrating part of it is that it's not rocket science. You'd think Crane would see what is happening in the playoffs right now with TB, CWS, and MIL and wake the F up.

I'd love it if they hired the entire Rays organization but you know GM Jim would never relinquish one iota of control. As sad as it seems, I believe the next move will further entrench Crane as the on and doff field decision baker. Get ready for puppet GM and manager.

How do you play LF after a play like that by turning your back on those heathens? I'd be scared to death.

This thread has gone to **** already. Can we at least wait until the poor decisions are before going into histrionics? There will be plenty of time for that after GM and manager are named.

It expires Dec 1, 2026. The last stoppage was Dec 1, 2021. Here are the players who signed in Nov 2021 (min 50 M).

Seager 10/325 M
Semien 7/175
Baez 6/140
Berrios 7/131
Scherzer 3/130
Ray 5/115
Marte 4/78
Gray 4/56
Garcia 4/53
Verlander 2/50 (opted out)

I would say this is a significant group. There were also a handful of trades, but nothing crazy.

Yes, I want a leader and direction of the franchise during this time and not waste it being run by Bagwell and Crane.

Another poor decision has already happened. Delaying signing a GM hurts the team.

Well if MLB proposed it the owners proposed it.

Wonder what the MLBPA will say. Probably "no you are just going to cut our salary back 5%".
