I've never seen someone kill their reputation with fans of an organization more than Jeff Bagwell.
The vast majority of fans have no idea Bagwell has any role at all with the franchise much less that he is behind the scenes pulling strings. The people on a thread like this are more plugged in and understand what he is doing but his reputation overall will likely be unaffected.

So many guys we DFA'd that should have at least been traded for cash considerations. Dana really screwed our roster...but how much was him and how much was Bagwell is anybody's guess.

Torn labrums are a terrible injury. Ruined Meyers throwing and cut a year off Brantley's career, ending it.
He's an AAAA player. Rakes in the minors but can't get it together in the Majors.

I really like how he appears to be handling the room and leading.
Dana was very wishy-washy, and he spoke carefully. Flo seems like he can command respect.
Whenever I heard Dana talk I didn't think he projected strong leadership. He always talked about making moves to improve the club but nothing ever materialized except the Varsho trade and we all know how that turned out.
When Hunsicker, Luhnow and Click spoke they projected leadership and confidence.

Dana made a lot of choices for pitching last season and nearly all of them were awful. Dana deserves what he got, even if Jim meddled a bit.
With Imai's money we could have gotten a starter and 2 relievers that contributed rather than search in the bargain bin hoping to get something that works.

As long as the things the players object to are mgmt trying to neuter the Dodgers' ability to sign every FA to a billion dollar contract with 80% of it deferred, count me on the aide of mgmt. If Mgmt wants to cut what they pay for draftees and international players and force lower market teams to spend more, but will let Dodgers keep deferring salaries to buy everybody, then put me on the side of the players.
I've been really busy last few weeks and haven't been able to stay up to date. What are our thoughts on the new GM / what happened with that process and who are we looking at for manager? TIA
