He needed a look in the mirror 3 years ago. Pretty sure he's broken all the mirrors now to avoid the possibility of even accidentally doing so.

But this all tracks with what many of us have said. No qualified candidate is coming in to just be a patsy to take bullets for idiotic ownership decisions at the risk of ever getting a GM opportunity again. You're looking at has beens and never gonna be's. The only real hope is that Crane is willing to money whip his target to a point they can't say no.

No doubt Kleine knew he would be the GM only in name here. JimBag would continue to call the shots. Why potentially sully your reputation here when he can sign on for a legit GM job somewhere else? The worst part is having to watch this rerun of the Cowboys/Jerry crapshow as a Dallas/Astros fan.
