I'd be down to wager that the Astros do the following..

1. Win the AL West this year
2. Make it further in the postseason than the Rangers
3. Win another World Series title before the Rangers win their first

Well considering one team is in the first year of a rebuild and the other is in the prime of their competitive run, there's not much risk to that wager...

Good thing HOUSTON has the Commissioners Trophy and two NBA Championships. Real Texans don't give two flying ****s about a hockey trophy
Do they give a **** about the NFL or recent NBA success?

1. This is about the world champion Astros and some middle of the road Rangers team.

2. The Dallas/Arlington combo has produced bad Rangers teams, bad Mavs teams, and a Cowboys team on par with the Texans. I couldn't tell you if the Stars are good or bad because this isn't Canada.

You won the World Series last year? You're not the world champions. You're just the entitled team who *****es about balls and strikes that has lost two series to the lowly Rangers.

It's hard to take your post seriously when you don't even know what you're talking about.

FYI.....The current world champ in baseball is the Boston Red Sox.

Don't be too hard on him. We didn't intentionally lose 110 games a year like your team did, so the rebuild is a little harder to recognize.

It was only a few months ago yall expected to make runs at guys like Kershaw because you were only a few pieces away.

I called this 2 years ago. You can go find the posts. Yall are stuck in mediocrity. You're not rebuilding. You're not completing. You're just good enough to win 70-85 games.

You have a middling minor league system at best and payroll in the top half of baseball. This rebuild is going to last until 2030.

So you would suggest we just lose on purpose, then? I'd rather try hard while rebuilding than purposely throw up the white flag for three or four seasons and hide all my teams pitiful games on a network nobody within 200 miles can actually see on their television. That's probably just me though.

Honest question...if you could choose to throw up the white flag for a few seasons to go to the ALDS 2 years later and win a WS 4 years later while continuing to be a WS favorite for the foreseeable future vs. being average for 10 and maybe having a chance in 15, which would you choose?

Still higher than Arlington's all-time winning percentage and a WS title on top of it.

I'd rather do it the way we actually did it during Astros' fans baseball dark period. Went to the series two straight years, missed the title by one strike, (twice) and a solid 6 year run of playoff contention while not having to completely forfeit at least 3 seasons. We were one good manager decision away from a title in 2 WS appearances without surrendering the franchise. Hurts not to have won, but we were there two years in a row while Houston was struggling to win 50+ in a season.

I'm happy with what we just did, and will be happy when we're back on top in 3-4 years while the Astros sink back to the bottom. That's how this goes, the only difference is I know my team didn't completely tank on purpose to get there.

The fans on the Astros board must really love it when this guy takes a break. His ignorance and lack of baseball knowledge is palpable.

Ranger rebuild until 2030?

We have a lot of very good pitchers making their way through the minor league system. Even your simple mind should be able to understand that the only weakness of our team this year is pitching. Our lineup has outperformed the Astros through roughly 20 games.

Below average for the last 50 years?

You must have disappeared without a trace after the year 2009 and been somewhere without TV or internet access because the Rangers were the best and most consistent team in the AL west from 2010-2016. We had two World Series appearances. Granted, we did get our butts kicked by the blue jays, but we've mainly fixed that problem. Banny was a terrible manager and it was very easy to out coach or outmaneuver him. It's hard to win a division when you're manager is probably the worst one in the division. AJ Hinch, Bob Melvin, and Mike sciocsa were all seen as very good.

With that said, I encourage you to keep posting. I'm sure the other Astros fans are rolling their eyes every time you make them look stupid, but it's fun I gotta say.

This is rich AF.

Youre just a few pitching prospects away.

That giant 20 game sample size where you have a worse Avg, Obp, & Slug.

Holy crap! This has to be the most Aggie post ever on TexAgs. "Well Bob, I'm actually satisfied with getting there and coming up juuuuust a bit short because we did it the right way."

On the flip, there's an organization with new ownership who looked at the franchise as a whole, said "it sucks" and rebuilt from the ground up rather than throwing tons of money at temporary fixes, went out and won a World Series and is primed to be a contender for the next 7 or so years while Arlington is in denial.

Our new ownership group went to the world series in years one and two. Yours intentionally lost. I'll take ours.

It's cute that you think you're going to contend for the next 7 years though. Nobody outside of New York or Boston keeps a window open for a decade, but I'm sure your guys have figured it out.
