Very hard team to root against. They looks like they just have so much fun.

Ehhhh waaa waaa waaaa you guys are mean... from a user whose name is likely one that originated specifically to poke at Lebron James on the basketball board.
The evolution of the hater to a great team is so predictable
1. they are dirty (Marisnick slide)
2. They are cheaters
3. Their fans suck
Anyhow... sorry about the Rangers guy.
And I'm still waiting for them to move on from odor. Fun stuff!Deluxe said:
It's a great time to be a baseball fan in Texas. The Astros are elite and could be on the verge of establishing dynasty type of status. And by hanging on to their tradeable assets at the deadline, the Rangers embody that "never give up" spirit that you want in an underdog.
Game 7's can go either way in sports. I'm sure nobody thought the Mavericks would go into San Antonio and beat the dynasty spurs in 2006. I still vividly remember that game.Deluxe said:
Tend to agree. The price for quality pitching at the deadline is going up. I think front offices of "rebuilding" franchises are getting smarter. But yea, the Yankees could have certainly used one more good innings eater.
I think you can get by in a best of five series with the bullpen taxing approach, but not sure you can in a seven game series. Even if the Yankees had won last night, I'm not sure what they would have had left in the tank for game seven.
Most MLB franchises can not afford to eat the size of contract given to Odor. Maybe just maybe some team will be willing to see if a change of scenery might be what it takes to live up to the potential Roughed showed early in his career. Even so, the Rangers will need to still pay a significant portion of what is owed him.Grapesoda2525 said:And I'm still waiting for them to move on from odor. Fun stuff!Deluxe said:

I would've benched his ass years ago. That guy will never pan out and I have to watch his pathetic azz 150 games a year.

Yet you were probably pulling for the damn Yankees in the ALCS. At worse the Astros fan base now mirrors the Ranger one in '10-'11, while asshatery of Yankee fan is unmatched by any in all sports expect maybe sippie._lefraud_ said:CrawlingNo5 said:

Hey, how's the offseason thread?CrawlingNo5 said:
No need to wait till October. Probably late July when the Astros are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
I'd drop in but they'd get their panties in a wad and cry to staff.EL TORO L0C0 said:Hey, how's the offseason thread?CrawlingNo5 said:

That LCS record looks pretty good tho.tjholley16 said:
updated Astros/Rangers postseason accolades (including the seasons at Colt 45's and Senators... which both resulted in zero postseason appearances)
Rangers (1961-2019)
- 8 Playoff Appearances
- 2 LCS Appearances
- 2 World Series Appearances
Astros (1962-present)
- 13 Playoff Appearances
- 7 LCS Appearances
- 3 World Series Appearances
- 1 World Series Championship
Safe to say.... one is a little better than the other

I hate to see games like this tonight. Almost embarrasses the whole state in a way..
At least they have cole and verlander set up for games 3 and 4, otherwise, yikes..

I like the Rangers. Doesn't take but 3 minutes in the morning to read the thread.PDEMDHC said:

"World series" emphasis on the word "world". Your series has the attention of both the world and the baseball world right now. Act like you've been there before. The offseason talk can't really commence until this series is over.BMX Bandit said:I like the Rangers. Doesn't take but 3 minutes in the morning to read the thread.PDEMDHC said:

thought it would be a nice distraction from the world series meltdown, but turns out Astros talk is everywhere.
He raises an excellent point. Someone should start a postseason discussion thread so Ranger fan has somewhere to discuss Astros baseball.Grapesoda2525 said:

Don't act like people haven't commented on the rangers in previous year astros threads. Actively rooting against them. It's what happens in rivalries.
